    Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus with a refrigerant circuit includes a connecting portion to which a first electric wire and a second electric wire are connected. The first and second electric wires are connected to corresponding first and second devices of a plurality of safety devices. The plurality of safety devices includes at least two types of a refrigerant detector, an alarm device, an isolation valve, and a ventilation device. A circuit configuration portion forms an interlock circuit with the first electric wire and the second electric wire connected to the connecting portion. A first member enables formation of a first circuit including at least part of the circuit configuration portion and not including both the first electric wire and the second electric wire. A controller prohibits an operation of the air conditioning apparatus when no current flows through either the interlock circuit or the first circuit.

    Abstract: Hydrocarbon-type refrigerants tend to dissolve in refrigerating machine oils, which may result in a decrease in the viscosity of the refrigerating machine oils and cause excessive wear of the sliding portions inside the compressors. An air conditioning apparatus includes a refrigerant circuit in which a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve, and an indoor heat exchanger are sequentially connected and a refrigerant is circulated. The compressor includes a sliding portion including a first bearing metal or an Oldham ring. At least one of two members slidable with each other in the sliding portion is formed of aluminum or aluminum alloy. The refrigerant circulating through the refrigerant circuit is a hydrocarbon-type refrigerant. A refrigerating machine oil used in the compressor has a refrigerant solubility of 30% or less at a pressure of 1.9 MPa and at a temperature of 60° C.

    Abstract: A centrifugal compressor for a chiller includes an inlet guide vane; an impeller, a diffuser, a volute forming member, a compressor housing, and an insert. The volute forming member is disposed downstream of the diffuser. The volute forming member forms a volute to receive a refrigerant after the refrigerant has been compressed. The volute has a reverse overhung configuration. The compressor housing encloses the impeller. The insert is disposed around an outer periphery of the impeller and interposed between the volute forming member and the compressor housing. The insert includes a diffuser defining wall surface that opposes an inner surface of the volute forming member. The diffuser is defined between the volute forming member and the diffuser defining wall surface.

    Abstract: A support system includes a display and a server. Upon acquiring first information on arrangement of a first refrigerant shut-off unit, second information on each of utilization-side units in a first utilization-side unit group, and third information on one of or both a length and an internal volume of the first connection pipe group, the server determines, based on an allowable leakage amount of the refrigerant into a space where a corresponding one or more utilization-side units is installed, whether the first, second, and third information are suitable for the design, and causes the display to display a result of the determination; or the server calculates a first refrigerant amount as a sum of an amount of the refrigerant in the first refrigerant circuit and an amount of the refrigerant, and causes the display to display the first refrigerant amount.
