Abstract:
A digital, flat panel, two-dimensional x-ray detector moves reliably, safely and conveniently to a variety of positions for different x-ray protocols for a standing, sitting or recumbent patient. The system makes it practical to use the same detector for a number or protocols that otherwise may require different equipment, and takes advantage of desirable characteristics of flat panel digital detectors while alleviating the effects of less desirable characteristics such as high cost, weight and fragility of such detectors.
Abstract:
A heat sink assembly for removing heat from an object having an outer surface includes a main body with an object receiving seat. A pair of flexible securing tabs are connected to the free edge of the open end of the main body which emanate into the open end of the main body. A heat dissipation members emanate from the outer surface of the main body to assist in dissipating the heat received by the main body from the heat generating object. The main body, the pair of flexible securing tabs and heat dissipating members are integrally formed with one another of a thermally conductive elastic or elastomeric material. An object to be cooled is inserted into the object receiving seat of the main body and retained in the seat and in communication with the inner surfaces of the main body by the pair of flexible securing tabs.
Abstract:
A net-shape molded heat transfer component is provided which includes a thermally conductive core and a metallic coating for reflection of electromagnetic interference and radio frequency waves. The heat transfer component is formed by net-shape molding a core body from a thermally conductive composition, such as a polymer composition, and applying a metallic coating. The molded heat transfer part is freely convecting through the part, which makes it more efficient and has an optimal thermal configuration. Additionally, the part is shielded from electromagnetic interference and radio frequency waves, thus preventing the transfer of same into the circuitry housed by the part. In addition, the coating also seals the conductive polymer core against moisture infiltration, making the part well suited for telecommunications applications in potentially harsh environments.
Abstract:
A boat hull configuration that generates lift upon forward movement in the water caused by two lateral side keels that run along either side of the hull, and a bottom surface that joins the two sides keels, wherein the forward portion of the bottom surface has a concave configuration which provides a pivot fulcrum surface, and wherein the forward portions of the keels have an inward slant from the front rearwardly to channel and trap water and air under the hull and result in the development of a force directed upward against the fulcrum surface to produce planing lift during powered forward motion of the boat.
Abstract:
A currency stacker-sorter having a movable receiver which receives a bill from a currency validator and carries the bill laterally to a position opposite the inlet of a selected one of a plurality of storage boxes, whereupon a ram mechanism is activated to place the bill into the selected storage box. The currency stacker includes a closed-loop position control system for selectively positioning the receiver mechanism at a desired location, the position control system including an optical encoder for sensing the position of the receiver mechanism relative to the inlets of the storage boxes. The ram mechanism also includes an optical encoder which allows that mechanism to complete a ram sequence in response to a single trigger pulse from the currency validator. Each storage box of the stacker-sorter includes a spring-loaded pressure plate connected to a rear portion of the box through a scissors linkage. Each compartment also includes a compartment FULL switch.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a health care data analysis apparatus for accessing, analyzing, planning, and filtering health care data of a population of people to be covered by an insurance plan, said data including claims and enrollment data, for applying one or more health care plans to the data and for generating reports via a report generator indicating the effects of the one or more health care plans based on the data.
