Abstract:
The invention concerns a device (D) dedicated to controlling access of a terminal (UE), connected to a CS domain of a mobile network comprising a MSC center (VMSC) running CS communications, to a IMS network services of which its user is a subscriber. Said device (D) comprises: i) a GMSC module managing setup of communications to a terminal (UE) connected to the CS domain, ii) a MGCF module converting messages from the CS domain in accordance with a ISUP protocol into messages in accordance with a SIP protocol addressed to a S-CSCF module and inversely, iii) an I-CSCF initiating registration of terminals connected to the CS domain, with a S-CSCF module, and iv) a P-CSCF emulator (P1) and a user agent (UA1) responsible a) for co-operating together on behalf of the terminal (UE) to instruct an I-CSCF module to initiate the registration of a terminal with a S-CSCF module of the IMS network of which its user is a subscriber, b) when the user attempts via the terminal (UE) to set up a call, for sending said call, via the MGCF module, to the S-CSCF module with which it is registered, and c) upon reception of a request for setting up communication to the terminal, from the S-CSCF module of the TMS network of which its user is a subscriber, for instructing the GMSC module, via the MGCF module, to manage said setting up on the CS domain side.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of operating a paging controller in a wireless communication system including a first network that operates according to a first radio access technology and a second network that operates according to a second radio access technology. The first network includes a first control plane entity and the second network includes a second control plane entity. The method includes providing, to at least one first base station in the first network, a request to transmit a page to a first tracking area associated with the mobile unit. The first tracking area is defined in the first network. The method also includes providing, via an interface between the first control plane entity and the second control plane entity, a request to transmit the page to a second tracking area associated with the mobile unit. The second tracking area is defined in the second network.
Abstract:
A method, user equipment and a network entity are disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: determining which of a plurality of packet bearers carry voice media components for handover between a packet-switched network and a circuit-switched network to ensure voice call continuity; and notifying an entity that will said enforce voice call continuity for which of said plurality of packet bearers carry said voice media components.
Abstract:
One object of the invention is a method for connection re-establishment in a mobile communication system, comprising: a step wherein a network entity in charge of initiating a paging procedure for a mobile station in idle mode sends a paging request carrying mobility management context information and/or service management context information related to said mobile station, a step wherein, upon the reception of said paging request, network entities in charge of communication over the radio interface in the paging area, store said mobility management context information and/or service management context information and send a paging message over said radio interface, a step wherein a network entity receiving a response to said paging message from said mobile station over said radio interface uses said stored mobility management context information and/or service management context information, for said connection re-establishment over said radio interface for said mobile station.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, there is provided a method for session transfer between Access Networks for a User Equipment UE, said method including insertion in a signaling path of a Service Continuity Application Server anchoring said session in IMS, said method including: insertion of a Service Continuity Application Server V-SCC-AS located in a Visited PLMN V-PLMN for a UE roaming in said V-PLMN.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates generally to supporting bonded services at non-anchor nodes. A non-anchor gateway device is configured to support service bonding for a user device and communication with an anchor node of the user device. The non-anchor gateway device is configured to associated a set of user device data plane connections of the user device to form a bonded session for the user device where the set of user device data plane sessions includes a first user device data plane connection associated with a first access network and a second user device data plane connection associated with a second access network. The non-anchor gateway device is configured to map user device traffic of the user device between the user device data plane connections of the bonded session and a user device data plane session between the gateway device and the anchor node for the user device.
Abstract:
One object of the present invention is a method for for configuring a cellular mobile communication network with Tracking Areas, comprising: a step of configuring a Radio Access Network entity, with at least one Tracking Area it is to be associated with, a step of registering a thus configured Radio Access Network entity onto a Mobility Management function and/or Paging Coordination function, for said at least one Tracking Area.
Abstract:
In one aspect, there is provided is a method for preventing congestion at radio access in a mobile or wireless communication system, said method comprising, in an embodiment, a step of: barring a Mobile Terminal from radio access, except if said Mobile Terminal belongs to a given one of different ranges into which Mobile Terminals are split, said given range being referred to as allowed range, said allowed range changing upon time.
Abstract:
An device (A) is dedicated to controlling the implementation of functions linked with providing at least one communication service to at least one communication terminal (T1) in a service equipment (SA1) belonging to an Internet communication core network (NC). The device (A) comprises control means (CM) which, upon receipt of a request for providing the service offered by its equipment (SA1) for a given communication, are tasked with (i) deciding to implement at least one function selected from among the functions offered by the equipment (SA1); and, subsequently, (ii) inserting data signaling that decision into at least one of the signaling messages sent by the equipment for the communication in question, which are intended for at least some other service equipments (PS1, PS2, SA2, MR1) of the core network (CR), so that they can prohibit themselves from implementing the selected function for the duration of the given communication.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, there is provided a method for handling Machine to Machine M2M services in a communication system, said method comprising a step of, for charging for IP Connectivity Access Network IP-CAN bearer services in said communication system: providing global charging information for a plurality of terminals using a same M2M service.
