Abstract:
A diffusive device has an array of discrete facets which may be of a size and pattern similar to a fractal. The facet dimensions can be greater than half the wavelength of incident light such that the facets substantially diffract light. A polarizing wire-grid layer comprised of an array of elongated parallel conductive wires with a period less than half the wavelength of incident light may be disposed between, beneath, or above the facets. The wire-grid polarizes the light by substantially reflecting light having an s-polarization orientation and substantially transmitting a portion of light having a p-polarization orientation.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a connector block that has at least two channels therein for connecting one signal transmission line with multiple signal transmission lines in a blasting system for transferring blasting signals, wherein one of the channels is the input end of signal transmission and one or more of the others are output ends, and wherein each channel is opened to a center cavity, thus enabling the input end and output end of transmission line to transfer the blasting signal through center cavity.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for operating a processor. The method comprising the steps of providing a single call stack for execution of a plurality of tasks that operate on the processor, parallelly operating the plurality of tasks and allowing a context switch from a first task to a second task of the plurality of tasks, but only when operation of the first task is blocked.
Abstract:
A process establishes a gross receipts target for a lottery for a predetermined quantity of base instant lottery game tickets for an instant lottery game such that (i) each base instant lottery game ticket provides an instant lottery game player with play eligibility in an instant lottery game to win a prize and (ii) each base instant lottery game ticket is sold by a retailer in either a target lot for a target price associated with the target lot or a sub-target lot for a sub-target price associated with the sub-target lot. The target lot has a target lot size. The sub-target lot has a sub-target lot size that is less than the target lot size. A ratio of the sub-target lot size to the sub-target price is in a non-linear proportion with a ratio of the target lot size to the target price.
Abstract:
A process establishes a first price category corresponding to a first prize in a lottery game. The first prize funded from lottery ticket sales from the first price category. Further, the process establishes a second price category corresponding to a second prize in the lottery game. The second prize is distinct from the first prize. In addition, the second prize is funded from lottery tickets sales from the second price category without funding from the lottery ticket sales from the first price category. The process also indicates a predetermined multiple such that a potential prize distribution of the second prize is at least the multiple of a potential prize distribution of the first prize.
Abstract:
A process provides a first price category and a second price category in which a scratch-off lottery ticket can be purchased for a scratch-off lottery game. In addition, the process randomly selects an extracted lot of scratch-off lottery tickets from the aggregate lot, the extracted lot having (i) an extracted lottery prize structure that has identical odds to the initial lottery prize structure without being limited to the predetermined number of maximum prizes in the maximum prize category and the predetermined number of secondary prizes in the secondary prize category, and (ii) an extracted lot size that is less than the aggregate lot size.
Abstract:
A process provides a lottery game. The process indicates a first price category and a second price category from which a lottery player can purchase a lottery ticket. The second price is a maximum price. Further, the process indicates a first prize distribution that can be won with a lottery ticket purchased from the first price category that has a match of a predetermined quantity of numbers between a set of player numbers appearing on the lottery ticket purchased from the first price category and a randomly selected set of numbers. In addition, the process indicates a second prize distribution that can be won with a lottery ticket purchased from the second price category that has a match between the set of player numbers appearing on the lottery ticket purchased from the second price category and the randomly selected set of numbers.
Abstract:
A security system includes at least one audio sensor and an alarm panel that transmits alarm report data through a communications network to at least one alarm receiver located at a central station remote from the premises that receives the alarm report data transmitted from the alarm panel through the communications network. A line card receives the alarm report data. An alarm receiver processor receives and processes regulated alarm report data in accordance with Underwriter Laboratories 1610 requirements. The line card is operable for receiving non-regulated alarm report data that is not regulated in accordance with Underwriter Laboratories 1610 requirements. The line card includes a secondary communications channel interfaced to a central station automation system and routes the regulated alarm report data to the central station automation system over the secondary communications channel and bypasses the alarm receiver processor.
Abstract:
An antenna system may include a reconfigurable array antenna system including a plurality of elements each capable of radiating and receiving electromagnetic energy. The antenna system may also include an electronically reconfigurable power management and control system to selectively power each of the plurality of elements to generate a desired beam pattern.
Abstract:
A diagnostic test device comprises means for sampling a liquid biological sample and means for reacting the sample with at least one reagent to provide one or more visible indicia. The device also comprises an optical detector for detecting the presence of the one or more indicia. The device also comprises means for causing at least part of the optical detector to move over the one or more indicia.
