Abstract:
An outdoor instrument-holding device is provided. The device is comprised of at least one strap, a mounting plate, and receiving arms. The strap may be fastened to an outdoor object such as a tree, and the mounting plate is attached to the straps through an opening. The straps are adjustable to the size and circumference of the outdoor object in use. The receiving arms are attached to the mounting plate through a base such that the arms can safely and securely hold an instrument off the ground in an outdoor setting.
Abstract:
Ruggedized voice and data communication systems are disclosed having at least two communications boards. Each communications board has at least one transceiver and a plurality of interfaces. A first communications board includes a primary network communicator having a non-transitory memory connected to a processor. The non-transitory memory has computer-executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to attempt a first network connection using at least one transceiver, and upon failure, enter a failover mode such that a second network connection is directly provided by the second communications board.
Abstract:
A multi-language sorting index may allow sort keys for multiple languages to be stored in an auxiliary table associated with a primary table in which the strings to be sorted are stored. Sort keys may be generated for each string and stored in the auxiliary table, with duplicate sort keys excluded. Queries for sorted data in the first table may use the auxiliary table to identify and sort the requested data.
Abstract:
A method for selecting and configuring Bluetooth connections in an electronic device. A graphical user interface is displayed upon an electronic device. A current network profile is selected from multiple available Bluetooth network profiles displayed by the graphical user interface. When a current network profile is selected, the associated connection profile for the current network is automatically displayed. The electronic device is then connected to the current network by communicatively coupling with a Bluetooth wireless device coupled with the current network.
Abstract:
A ventilation system for a range hood of a kitchen area is provided. More particularly, a kitchen ventilation system is provided that has both exhaust and recirculation options that are provided by internally contained features for directing the flow of air. The system can be installed as a modular unit as part of a new or existing range hood.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and devices for displaying information in a handheld device, comprising displaying information in a dynamically sizable cell in the display of the handheld device, wherein the cell comprises a portion of the display and the size of the cell is adjusted in response to the amount of information it contains. Embodiments of the present invention are enabled to display the information in plurality of dynamically sizable cells which display different categories of information. Embodiments are also enabled to adjust cell size in response to the size of other cells in the display.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydroprocessed product that can be produced by hydroprocessing tar, such as a tar obtained from hydrocarbon pyrolysis. The invention also relates to methods for producing such a hydroprocessed product, and the use of such a product, e.g., as a fuel oil blending component.
Abstract:
The present invention related to an UV-photo-protecting cosmetic composition, comprising: (a) at least one aqueous phase, (b) at least one fatty phase, (c) at least one micronized organic UV-screening agent, the mean particle size of said micronized particles ranging from 0.01 to 2 μm, and (d) at least one organomodified silicone which does not comprise poly(oxyalkylene) moieties.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a process and system for cracking hydrocarbon feedstock containing vacuum resid comprising: (a) subjecting a vacuum resid to a first thermal conversion in a thermal conversion reactor (such as delayed coker, fluid coker, Flexicoker™, visbreaker and catalytic hydrovisbreaker) where at least 30 wt % of the vacuum resid is converted to material boiling below 1050° F. (566° C.); (b) introducing said thermally converted resid to a vapor/liquid separator, said separator being integrated into a steam cracking furnace, to form a vapor phase and liquid phase; (c) passing said vapor phase to the radiant furnace in said steam cracking furnace; and (d) recovering at least 30 wt % olefins from the material exiting the radiant furnace (based upon the weight of the total hydrocarbon material exiting the radiant furnace).
Abstract:
An energy consuming device comprises a power consuming feature/function and a controller operatively connected to the power consuming feature/function. The controller is configured to operate the device including the power consuming feature/function in one of a plurality of operating modes, including at least a normal operating mode during an associated off-peak demand period of an associated energy supplying utility and an energy savings mode during an associated peak demand period of the associated energy supplying utility. The controller is configured to provide a user a grace period during the associated peak demand period to allow the user to change the operating mode of the power consuming feature/function from the energy savings mode to another operating mode including the normal operating mode thereby allowing additional use of the power consuming feature/function during the associated peak demand period.
