    摘要: The present invention relates to an information processing system using a coordinate detection device and displays, and more specifically to an input-display integrated information processing system which allows the displays to be carried like paper and to be freely laid out and stacked together on a desk (coordinate input device). The system includes a layout determining unit for determining a layout of the display on said coordinate detection device, wherein the layout determining unit further comprises a display position coordinate detector that detects where in the coordinate space of the coordinate detection device the display for displaying an information is located, and a coordinate converter that converts the information into display coordinates. The layout determination is done by using markers attached to three of the four corners of the display.

    摘要: An active matrix type liquid crystal display system having a liquid crystal composition being interposed between a first and a second substrates, a plurality of pixel parts being constructed with a plurality of scanning electrodes and a plurality of signal electrodes arranged in a matrix, a switching element being provided in each of the pixel parts, wherein the switching element is connected to a pixel electrode, the pixel electrode and a common electrode being so constructed as operable in keeping the major axes of the liquid crystal molecules parallel to the surface of the substrate. In the pixel part, the signal electrode and the pixel electrode is formed and a shield electrode is formed between the signal electrode and the pixel electrode. The system requires no transparent electrode, being excellent in visual angle characteristic, being high in contrast, being small in cross-talk producing probability.

    摘要: A gray scale display, which is provided with a liquid crystal panel consisting of switching elements and a liquid crystal layer superposed thereon; a digital-time function transforming device for transforming digital signals including gray scale information into time function signals; and a time function-gray scale transforming device for sampling a brightness reference signal varying with respect to time, responding to the time function signals and generating gray scale signals corresponding to the signal voltage applied to the switching elements. The time function-gray scale transforming device, in which the brightness reference signal is inputted, samples the signal, responding to time function signals such as a pulse phase signal, a pulse width signal, etc., to obtain a signal voltage. In this way it is possible to reduce the size of a signal voltage generating circuit and to lower signal speed of the operation of the circuit.

    摘要: A liquid crystal (LC) display apparatus using an active matrix driving method includes an LC panel having electrodes of N rows by M columns (where N.gtoreq.2, M .gtoreq.2). Intersections of row electrodes and column electrodes form display dots. A column data generation circuit generates, for each row, column data to be supplied to the LC panel, on the basis of display data representing whether each dot should be turned on or not and values of an orthogonal function having values of -1 or 1.     摘要: The object of the invention is to provide a drive method suitable for driving a fast-responding STN liquid crystal display device which ensures a minimized cross talk and improved contrast in display. The drive method comprises a memory means for storing display data corresponding to a plurality of lines, a function generating means for generating a drive function for the row electrodes, an arithmetic means for computing the outputs from the foregoing means, a column electrode drive means for driving the column electrodes in dependency on the output from the arithmetic means, and a row electrode drive means for driving the row electrodes in accordance with respective row electrode drive functions. As a voltage function to be applied to each row during drive operation, a sum of a plurality of orthogonal functions is utilized. Thereby, degradation in contrast due to display patterns as well as the cross talk can be minimized. Further, arithmetic operation can be simplified in gradation display since application of a compensating voltage waveform is no more required.
