Abstract:
In a method for instantiating a class having different versions defined in an object-oriented programming language, updating of objects in a network for the running time of the system is enabled. Objects having different versions, above all software agents, are therefore instantiated. A distinction is made between the instantiation with different versions of an object, the updating of classes having different versions, and the updating of the platform, which provides operating software for the software agents. Applications of the method include Internet, network management, Java, and generally networked and/or distributed systems.
Abstract:
Selection of an appropriate intraocular lens (IOL) and/or the applicable surgical parameters for optimizing the results of refractive procedures on the eye. Features of the IOL are crucial for the selection and/or adjustment of the optimal IOL, but so is the IOL selection method (and parameters) from a surgical perspective. For the method, corresponding output parameters are determined from predetermined, estimated, or measured input parameters and/or their mean values, wherein at least two input parameters are varied with one another and which have at least one input parameter as a distribution function. The resulting function is optimized by means of corresponding target values and the determined distribution function of one or more output parameters is used as a decision aid. The present solution is used for selecting an appropriate IOL and/or the applicable surgical parameters and is applicable in the field of eye surgery for implanting IOLs.
Abstract:
An arrangement in the illumination beam path of a laser scanning microscope, comprising a mirror which can be introduced into the beam path for coupling in at least one additional wavelength, and a method for the operation of a laser scanning microscope with a mirror which can be swiveled in rapidly for coupling at least one additional wavelength into the illumination beam path, wherein the swiveling process is synchronized with the illumination control by a control unit in such a way that at least one additional wavelength is coupled into the illumination beam path when the mirror is swiveled out.
Abstract:
A coordinator object that contains access patterns indicating the sequences of accesses of the cooperating processes to the object is allocated to the common object. The coordinator object controls the accesses to the object requested by the processes with the assistance of the access patterns. The change from one access type to another access type ensues dependent on a switch condition that can be set. The switch condition is met when all accesses of a group of processes with respect to an access type or when a predetermined plurality of specific accesses have been implemented. The goal of the method is to coordinate the parallel processing of processes in a multi-processor system both given common address space as well as given distributed address space.
