Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system to implement an annotator for annotating content using context-based surface forms. The mechanism receives a dictionary data structure of surface forms comprising a plurality of regular expressions and input content. The mechanism compares a given span of text in the input content to each regular expression in the dictionary data structure. Responsive to the given span of text matching a given regular expression, an annotator annotates the span of text with a content indicator corresponding to a content category associated with the dictionary data structure. The mechanism performs a natural language processing operation on the input content based on results of the annotation.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system comprising at least one processor and at least one memory, the at least one memory comprising instructions executed by the at least one processor to cause the at least one processor to implement a healthcare analytics management system. A healthcare analytics development sub-system of the healthcare analytics management system develops an analytics pipeline of a set of analytics assets for a selected healthcare based on a set of business needs for a healthcare analytics client and a healthcare analytics model based on the set of analytics assets and the set of business needs. The healthcare analytics model links to the analytics pipeline. A model deployment module of a healthcare analytics operation sub-system of the healthcare analytics management system deploys the healthcare analytics model on a set of computing devices of the selected healthcare consumer. Responsive to a model monitoring module of the healthcare analytics operation sub-system detecting a performance deviation of the deployed healthcare analytics model for performance deviation from the set of business needs for the healthcare analytics client, a model feedback module of the healthcare analytics operation sub-system determines improvement needs for the healthcare analytics model. The model feedback module feeds the improvement needs back to the healthcare analytics development sub-system. The healthcare analytics development sub-system customizes the healthcare analytics model based on the improvement needs.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for implementing a disambiguation engine for disambiguating content. Electronic content is received from a corpus of electronic content, and analyzed to identify an ambiguous portion of content. The ambiguous portion of content is a portion of the electronic content whose meaning is not made explicit in the ambiguous portion of content. A context associated with the ambiguous portion of content is determined and a set of one or more context based ambiguous content interpretation rules associated with the determined context is applied to the ambiguous portion of content to generate an interpretation of the ambiguous portion of content. The ambiguous portion of content is annotated based on the interpretation to generate disambiguated electronic content which is stored for processing as part of a subsequent operation.

Abstract: Methods and systems for clinical report generation. One system includes an electronic processor configured to receive a query image and determine a similarity metric for a plurality of medical images, where the similarity metric represents a similarity between the query image and each of the plurality of medical images. The electronic processor is also configured to determine a predetermined number of medical images from the plurality of medical images based on the similarity metric for each of the plurality of medical images. The electronic processor is also configured to rank a plurality of reports, where each of the plurality of reports correspond to one of the predetermined number of medical images. The electronic processor is also configured to generate a clinical report including information extracted from at least one of the plurality of reports based on the ranking of the plurality of reports.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system comprising a processor and a memory, the memory comprising instructions that are executed by the processor to specifically configure the processor to implement a repetitive portion identification and weighting engine. A machine learning model is trained for weighting repetitive portions of patient electronic medical records (EMRs). A repetitive portion identification component applies a plurality of templates to clinical notes of a patient EMR to identify one or more candidate portions that match at least one of the plurality of templates. A content analysis component performs content analysis on the one or more candidate portions to determine whether each given candidate portion is relevant. A weighting component assigns a relative weight to each given candidate portion based on relevance. A cognitive summary graphical user interface (GUI) generation component generates cognitive summary reflecting at least a subset of the one or more candidate portions of the patient EMR. The mechanism outputs the cognitive summary in a GUI to a user.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for treatment planning are disclosed. The system includes at least one processing component, at least one memory component, a training module, a retrieval module, and a plan generator. The training module generates hash codes by hashing features from data sources with data source-specific hash functions, and generates superclass hash codes by hashing the generated hash codes with at least one superclass hash function. The retrieval module extracts features from case data, and locates features from the data sources that are similar to the extracted features. The plan generator calculates outcome probabilities for the case data based on known outcomes associated with the located features.

Abstract: Methods and systems for rending medical images within a web browser application. The web browser application retrieves a worklist and automatically determines an image study from the worklist to be cached. The web browser application retrieves at least one medical image included in the image study. The web browser application creates a web database for storing the at least one medical image within the browser application. When a user selects a medical image for display within the web browser, the web browser application determines whether the medical image is stored in the web database. When the medical image is stored in the web database, the web browser application retrieves the medical image from the web database. When the medical image is not stored in the web database, the web browser application retrieves the medical image from a remote image repository.
