Abstract: This disclosure provides techniques of synchronizing the playback of two recorded videos of the same surgical procedure. In one aspect, a process for generating a composite video from two recorded videos of a surgical procedure is disclosed. This process begins by receiving a first and second surgical videos of the same surgical procedure. The process then performs phase segmentation on each of the first and second surgical videos to segment the first and second surgical videos into a first set of video segments and a second set of video segments, respectively, corresponding to a sequence of predefined phases. Next, the process time-aligns each video segment of a given predefined phase in the first video with a corresponding video segment of the given predefined phase in the second video. The process next displays the time-aligned first and second surgical videos for comparative viewing.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a description of systems and methods for creation of a product formulary for medical product items. A clinical usage hierarchy is created for a practice area that includes multiple organizational levels and substitutable group categories. Data for known, categorizable products is entered into the categories of the clinical usage hierarchy and used to train a machine learning model, which is then deployed on a universal item database to populate the clinical usage hierarchy with all possible substitute items according to available categorization information in the database. This resulting clinical usage hierarchy has populated categories of items used in procedures in the practice area, where each item in a category is substitutable for any other item in that category, and is used to generate a product formulary utilized by physician or healthcare providers when selecting items for a future medical procedure in the practice area.

Abstract: Provided is a method including obtaining a set of ontologies mapping n-grams onto concepts to which the n-grams refer in different respective domains of knowledge. The method includes receiving an update associating a first n-gram with a first concept and receiving information by which the update is associated with a given domain of knowledge. The method includes selecting a subset of ontologies by determining that the update in the given domain of knowledge is applicable to respective domains of knowledge of the subset of ontologies and that the first concept has a specified type of relationship to a subset of concepts to which other n-grams are mapped in the subset of ontologies. The method also includes storing, in response to the determination, associations between the first n-gram and the subset of concepts in at least some of the subset of ontologies in memory of the computer system.

Abstract: A system and method of visually displaying healthcare protocols to a user receives from the user, via an electronic communications network, search term(s) associated with a health-related condition. A corpus of document(s) stored in an electronic format is identified with a computer and, based on the search term(s), at least one of the document(s) is analyzed with the computer for a treatment protocol associated with the health-related condition. First content for presentation to the user is determined with the computer, the first content including at least a portion of the treatment protocol associated with the health-related condition. A risk value indicative of risk(s) associated with the first content is determined. In response to a determination that the risk value exceeds the risk threshold, second content for presentation is determined by reformatting the first content. A message is sent causing the second content to be visually displayed to the user.

Abstract: Various methods, systems, computer readable media, and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) are presented and described that enable a subject, doctor, or user to characterize or classify various types of cancer precisely. Additionally, described herein are methods, systems, computer readable media, and GUIs that enable more effective specification of treatment and improved outcomes for patients with identified types of cancer. Some embodiments of the methods, systems, computer readable media, and GUIs described herein comprise obtaining RNA expression data and/or whole exome sequencing (WES) data for a biological sample from a plurality of subjects, determining a respective plurality of molecular-functional (MF) profiles for the plurality of subjects, and storing the plurality of MF profiles in association with information identifying the particular cancer type.
