摘要: A data communication system for communicating one or more payload streamed data signals and an auxiliary data signal, the auxiliary data signal being arranged as one or more data packets according to a data packet protocol, each packet having a packet destination address. The system includes at least two data handling nodes, a transmitting one of the data handling nodes arranged to transmit data to a receiving one of the data handling nodes, and a transmission data formatter associated with the transmitting node for formatting the packets of the auxiliary data signal into a streamed data signal format and for multiplexing the payload streamed data signals and the formatted auxiliary data signal into a bitstream for transmission. The system further includes a received data reformatter associated with the receiving node for demultiplexing the input streamed data signals and the formatted auxiliary data signal and for reformatting the auxiliary data signal into packets according to the data packet protocol.

摘要: A data communication transmitting node is provided, the transmitting node comprising: a plurality of buffers for storing data from a respective plurality of input data streams; means for monitoring an occupancy level of each of the plurality of buffers to detect if the occupancy level is sufficient to provide a complete data block to the transmission stream; and a transmission controller operable to select, in turn, a buffer from the plurality of buffers to output a data block to a transmission data stream, the selection being performed according to a buffer selection order. If the buffer selected by the transmission controller is detected to have an insufficient occupancy level when selected, a dummy data block is supplied to the data transmission stream in place of a data block from the selected buffer.

摘要: A folding system is provided for folding at least one wing extending from a central chassis of each of a plurality of absorbent articles formed from a continuous moving web moving in a longitudinal direction. The folding system has a wing-folding conveyor and at least one elongated, folding plow, which has an entrance end, an exit end and an inner edge that define a twist axis. The folding plow has a contoured surface having a configuration defined by a twist angle that increases along the twist axis from zero degrees near the entrance end to 180 degrees near the exit end. The wing-folding conveyor moves the central chassis along the inner edge of the folding plow and the wing slides against the contoured surface from the entrance end to the exit end, such that the wing folds around the central chassis near the inner edge.

摘要: A pneumatic actuator comprises a cell through which a normally laminar flow of air passes between an inlet and an outlet to provide, in the outlet, an output pressure. The cell includes an electro-acoustic transducer, for example a piezo-electric element arranged, in response to an oscillating electrical signal, to produce an acoustic signal that disturbs the laminar flow whereby at least some of the air exhausts from the cell via one or more exhaust ports and the output pressure falls. The difference in the output pressures may be used to control a pneumatic device optionally via a pneumatic amplifier. The electrical signal is produced by an opto-electrical transducer to which optical control signals are transmitted, for example along a fibre optic cable.

摘要: In order to ensure that the vibrations of a system under test are in accordance with a reference spectral density Z(w), the system is driven by a signal x.sub.n (t) provided by an inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) with random phases introduced by a function R.sub.n (w) and the response spectral density Y.sub.n (w) provided by a DFT is brought into agreement with Z(w) by a feedback loop. Moreover, in order to ensure that this is done in one iteration, X'.sub.n (w) is derived from x.sub.n (t) by a DFT and divided by Y.sub.n (w) and the quotient is multiplied with Z(w) to provide the new input x.sub.n (w) for the IDFT. The division cancels out the random factor which is present in both X'.sub.n (w) and Y.sub.n (w).The system thus equalizes both rapidly and stably.
