Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to multilayer silo bags that may include a tube comprising at least two layers, a first open end, a second open end, and a first region and a second region disposed between the first and second end. One M or more of the at least three layers may comprise an ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer having a density of 0.90 g/cc to 0.965 g/cc and N an I2 of 0.1 to 6.0 g/10 minutes, a low density ethylene-based polymer having a density of 0.917 g/cc to 0.935 g/cc and an I2 of 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 minutes, or combinations thereof. The first region may have a thickness of at least 10% greater than a thickness of the second region. The first region may have a surface area that is at least 50% of an overall surface area of the multilayer silo bag.

Abstract: Provided is a method for increasing the melt strength and/or low shear viscosity of a polyethylene resin. The method includes: a) providing a polyethylene composition including the reaction product of ethylene and optionally, one or more alpha-olefin comonomers, wherein the polyethylene composition is characterized by the following properties: a density ranging from 0.900 g/cm3 to 0.970 g/cm3, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) ranging from 2.6 to 3.5, and from 0.10 to 0.27 vinyl groups per 1,000 total carbon atoms; b) providing a masterbatch composition including a free radical generator and a polyethylene resin, wherein the free radical generator has a half-life at 220° C. of less than 200 seconds, and a decomposition energy higher than −250 kJ/mol, and wherein the polyethylene resin has a density ranging from 0.900 g/cm3 to 0.970 g/cm3, melt index ranging from 0.01 g/10 min to 100 g/10 min; and c) reacting the polyethylene composition with the masterbatch composition to form a modified polyethylene composition.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a flexible container (10). In an embodiment, the flexible container includes a first flexible film (12) superimposed on an opposing second flexible film (14). The first flexible film and the second flexible film are sealed along a common peripheral edge (16) to form an inner container having a closed chamber. The first flexible film and the second flexible film each has an outermost layer comprising an ethylene-based polymer. Each outermost layer is a surface-treated layer having a surface energy from 33 mN/m to 36 mN/m. The flexible container includes a peel sleeve (22, 24) superimposed on each respective outermost layer and along the common peripheral edge. The flexible container includes a release material (26) located between the peel sleeve and each outermost layer along the common peripheral edge. The release material releasably attaches the peel sleeve to the inner container.
