Abstract:
Embodiments relate to a method, system, and storage medium for providing automated execution of pre-defined events over a network. The method includes receiving a profile for a requestor of an event to be executed. The profile includes a personal identifier for associating the requester with the profile, a communications address for the requestor, at least one event recipient identifier used to identify an individual or entity that is the object of the event, and at least one event recipient communications address. The method also includes receiving events defined for execution at a future time, receiving a request to execute at least one of the events, and executing the event on behalf of the requestor.
Abstract:
A surgical clip applier and methods for applying surgical clips to a vessel, duct, shunt, etc., during a surgical procedure are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical clip applier is provided having a housing with a trigger movably coupled thereto and an elongate shaft extending therefrom with opposed jaws formed on a distal end thereof. The trigger is adapted to advance a clip to position the clip between the jaws, and to move the jaws from an open position to a closed position to crimp the clip positioned therebetween.

Abstract:
Methods, computer programs, and systems for integrating personalized listings of media content into an electronic program guide. A user profile is retrieved that sets forth information about a user's preferences. Media content information is received that is indicative of a media type, a title, and/or descriptive information, for each of a plurality of available media selections. A media content recommendation is generated for the user by applying the user profile to the media content information, the recommendation setting forth at least one recommended media selection. The at least one recommended media selection is presented for display within the electronic program guide.
Abstract:
A WAP-enabled device can request text-based and/or voice based content from a WAP Server. The WAP device communicates over a conventional wireless service provider network. This network provides a connection between the WAP device and a WAP Gateway. The WAP Gateway operates as a gateway between the wireless service provider network and the TCP/IP-based Internet. Content requests are sent from the WAP gateway to the WAP Server. When a request for voice-based content delivery is received, the WAP Server responds by sending a TCP/IP instruction to a Voice Portal Node. The Voice Portal Node is operative to establish a voice-based communication session with the WAP device. The WAP Server will transmit voice-based content to the Voice Portal Node. An audible transmission is then played over the telephone connection established between the Voice Portal Node and the WAP device in response to the request initiated by the WAP device.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method for managing a prepaid wireless account for voice and data communications services. According to one embodiment the communications system, having a prepaid architecture for managing a plurality of prepaid wireless accounts for communication services, wherein each prepaid account is associated with a prepaid subscriber comprises a wireless network including a mobile switch, in communication with a wireless device, the wireless device for remotely managing at least one of the prepaid accounts. The communications system also comprises a wide area network including a prepaid account database for storing records assigned to subscribers of prepaid communications services; a prepaid application module for initializing and updating the prepaid accounts; a credit card transaction server, coupled to a credit card database, for checking available credit; and a prepaid server coupled to the prepaid account database and the prepaid application module. The communications system also includes a gateway in communication with the mobile switch of the wireless network and in communication with the wide area network.
Abstract:
A wireless device may be alerted. For example, a message may be received from an invoking party and parsed for request data. Then a determination may be made as to whether identification data in the received message matches identification data resident in the wireless device. Next, the wireless device may be alerted when the received identification data matches the identification data resident in the wireless device and when the request data includes a request to alert the wireless device. A return message may be sent to the invoking party when the request data includes the request to alert the wireless device. The return message may indicate that the wireless device as been alerted. Alerting the wireless device may comprise causing the wireless device to perform a function configured to indicate to a subject that the wireless device has been lost.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for delivering an indication of an email message's arrival. The email message is received and identifies at least an addressee. The addressee is looked up in a database that associates multiple addressees to a shared Internet Protocol address. The shared Internet Protocol address is retrieved and a message is sent to the shared Internet Protocol address. The message identifies the addressee of the email message and includes instructions for indicating arrival of the message at the addressee.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, devices, and products obtain collaborative authorization in an electronic commerce transaction. One such device includes a commerce profile stored in memory, and a processor communicates with the memory. The commerce profile stores rules for obtaining authorization for the electronic transaction. The processor accesses the commerce profile and, based on the rules, determines whether authorization from a first party is permitted or whether collaborative authorization by a second party is required to authorize the electronic transaction. When collaborative authorization is required, the processor retrieves a collaborative communications address from the commerce profile and communicates the collaborative communications address from the device.
