Abstract:
Examples disclosed herein relate to methods and systems for enhancing performance of robust header compression (RoHC) compressor when encountering silence suppression. In one example, an RTP timestamp increment is calculated for successive packets, until a predetermined number of packets have a constant timestamp increment value. The constant RTP timestamp increment value is assigned as a timestamp stride (TS_STRIDE) value for compression, the value of each RTP timestamp (TS) is scaled by timestamp stride (TS_STRIDE) and the header is compressed using the assigned value.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatuses for controlling radio links in a multiple carrier wireless communication system are disclosed. A method can include aggregating control functions from at least two carriers onto one carrier to form an anchor carrier and one or more associated secondary carriers; establishing communication links for the anchor carrier and each secondary carrier; and controlling communication based on the anchor carrier.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communications is provided. The method includes generating two or more uplink carrier signals across a wireless network and generating at least one active signal set for the wireless network. The method also includes generating one or more secondary active signal sets in accordance with the two or more uplink carrier signals to facilitate communications across the wireless network.
Abstract:
The invention provides method and apparatus for collaboration between a plurality of associated portlets in a portal server comprising: associating each portlet with a portlet descriptor describing context names; forming collaboration groups of portlets having corresponding context names for synchronized contents.

Abstract:
Systems, methodologies, and devices are described that facilitate transferring a subset of compression context from a source base station to a target base station during an inter-base station handover of a mobile device to facilitate establishment of compression context between the mobile device and target base station. The source base station can transfer a subset of compression context comprising static and semi-static context to the target base station during inter-base station handover to at least partially establish compression context between the mobile device and target base station prior to or during handover. The source base station can transmit, to the mobile device, indicator information related to compression context transferred. The target base station can at least partially establish compression context based on received subset of compression context to facilitate efficient communication with the mobile device and can establish any remaining portion of compression context with the mobile device after handover.
Abstract:
A communication system is disclosed in which a mobile terminal having limited power is able to communicate with a land-based network via a low-rate satellite communication link. To achieve VoIP communications via a low-rate link, link-layer assisted zero-header header compression techniques are employed to reduce VoIP packet overheads. Additionally, overheads introduced by link layer protocol layers are eliminated or reduced. A transmitting device strips RTP/UDP/IP header information from a stream of VoIP packets. The transmitting device then sends an initial context message providing the RTP/UDP/IP header information. The stripped zero-header VoIP packets are then transmitted via a satellite relay. A receiving device uses the initial context information to reconstruct the headers for the zero-header VoIP packets.
Abstract:
An install factory creates install packages used to install complex applications onto multiple data processing systems in a reliable and reproducible manner. The install factory takes a variety of inputs to build a custom installation package. The custom install package may be used repeatedly for installs, using the same install package, a full install on a first data processing system, an updated install on a second data processing system, a fix or service pack on a third data processing system, and also configure an application on a fourth data processing system. Thereafter, all data processing systems have the desired level of the application installed. In addition, the install factory may create install packages that are modified in accordance with user preferences.
Abstract:
For a portal server system for managing a collection of associated portlets responsive to user requests to access a application, the invention provides apparatus and methodology including: a portlet application session object for saving parameters from user requests of associated portlets; and, a portlet application communication client linked to said portlet application session means for communicating between said associated portlets and said web application to convey user requests received from said associated portlets to said web application.
Abstract:
Adaptive De-Jitter Buffer for Voice over IP (VoIP) for packet switch communications. The de-jitter buffer methods and apparatus presented avoid playback of underflows while balancing end-to-end delay. In one example, the de-jitter buffer is recalculated at the beginning of each talkspurt. In another example, talkspurt packets are compressed upon receipt of all remaining packets.
