Abstract:
A method for determining a sound standard for an input sound signal includes the following steps. Firstly, the input sound signal is filtered to obtain a first filtered signal corresponding to a first frequency and a second filtered signal corresponding to a second frequency. Next, the first filtered signal is frequency-demodulated to obtain a first demodulated filtered signal, and whether the input sound signal contains a FM analog component corresponding to the first frequency is determined accordingly. Next, the second filtered signal is decoded according to a digital sound standard to obtain a bit stream. Then, the bit steam is interpreted according to the digital sound standard, and whether the input sound contains a digital component corresponding to the digital sound standard is determined accordingly. Then, whether the input sound signal matches one of known sound standards is determined based on the determined results above.

Abstract:
An interactive toy has a microphone, a speaker, a memory for storing a toy identifier, and an interface to provide communications with a computer system. The computer system connects to a server on a network. The interactive toy provides electrical signals from the microphone, as well as the toy identifier, to the computer system via the interface. The interface enables the computer system to control the speaker to generate audible information according to data received from the server. Alternatively, a processor and memory with networking capabilities may be embedded within the toy to eliminate the need for a computer system.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a computer joystick for controlling cursor or object movements in three dimensions. The computer joystick comprises a chassis, a control stick vertically installed on the chassis in a rotatable manner, a control stick sensor installed inside the chassis for detecting rotations of the control stick and generating corresponding stick position signals, a joystick handle comprising a vertical slot, and a rotation detector. The joystick handle is rotatably installed on the control stick through the vertical slot. The rotation detector comprises an optical panel fixed on the control stick, and a light sensor fixed inside the vertical slot of the joystick handle for detecting rotations of the joystick handle on the control stick and generating corresponding rotation signals.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an input device for transmitting an input signal to a computer through a game port of the computer. The game port comprises a capacitor and a detecting circuit for detecting a time period needed for charging the capacitor to a threshold voltage, discharging the capacitor when the capacitor is charged to the threshold voltage, and transmitting the detected time period as an input to the computer. The input device comprises a first charging circuit wired to the capacitor for slowly charging the capacitor, a second charging circuit wired to the capacitor for quickly charging the capacitor, and a control circuit wired to the capacitor used for activating the second charging circuit according to the input signal. The control circuit activates the second charging circuit according to the voltage of the capacitor and the input signal so that the capacitor can be quickly charged to the threshold voltage.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a touch-screen display, a processor, a memory, and one or more modules stored in the memory. The one or more modules are adapted to be executed by the processor to enter into a user-interface alarm state from a user-interface non-alarm state in responds to an alarm trigger condition. The one or more modules are adapted to display one or more contact areas on the touch-screen display in the user-interface alarm state. The one or more modules are adapted to change locations of the one or more contact areas on the touch-screen display. The one or more modules are adapted to detect one or more contact actions on each of the one or more contact areas on the touch-screen display. The one or more modules are adapted to change the electronic device to the user-interface non-alarm state.
Abstract:
A data processing apparatus including a register bank, a shadow register and an arithmetic operation unit. The register bank includes a number of registers respectively for storing a number of operands wherein the registers are n-bit registers, and n is a nature number. The shadow register stores a first backup operand for making a backup of a first operand, which is stored in a first one of the registers in response to first control signal. The arithmetic operation unit performs at least an arithmetic operation on the operands to obtain operational data, and stores the operational data in the first register in response to an arithmetic operation command.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a display, a storing module, an accessing module, a displaying controller, a sensing module, and a file operating module. The storing module stores a folder and a plurality of files. The folder is displayed as a folder representative icon on the touch-sensitive display. Each file is displayed as a file representative icon on a display window. The accessing module obtains the folder representative icon. The displaying controller displays the folder representative icon on the display. The sensing module detects a slide operation along a first direction on the touch sensitive display by a finger/stylus on the folder representative icon. The file operating module outspreads the displaying window, along a first direction corresponding to the slide operation from a side of the folder to display the file representative icon when the slide operation is detected.

Abstract:
An electronic device includes a motherboard, a touch screen, an input module, and an identifying module connected to the touch screen and the input module. The touch screen is connected to the motherboard and attached to the front of the electronic device, the input module is disposed at the rear of the electronic device. The indentify module identifies whether input information has come from the touch screen or from the input module and after any discrimination which may be necessary sends the input information to the motherboard which executes instructions according to the input information. A method for inputting information into the electronic device is also disclosed.
