    摘要: A seed rack (20) for use in assembling artificial seeds is provided. The seed rack includes base (22) having a length and a plurality of receptacles (26). Each one of the plurality of receptacles is sized and configured to receive at least one artificial seed coat (28) having an opening. The seed rack also includes a retaining arm (24) attached to the base for reciprocating movement between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the retaining arm clamps the at least one artificial seed coat within one of the plurality of receptacles and assists in positioning the opening of the at least one artificial seed coat within the seed rack.

    摘要: There is provided a method for implementing a cathodic protection system for an underground storage tank. A DC voltage source provides a test current between the installed anode and storage tank resulting in the flow of electrical current. If the output is above a defined value, an automatic control DC power supply has sufficient voltage capacity to deliver the required current. If the anode test currents fall below the required minimum current, additional anode(s) are installed as set forth in a pre-engineered table. The method allows for the installation of a cathodic protection system by technicians and other non-experts.

    摘要: The invention provides methods for improving the germination of manufactured seeds. The methods comprise the step of inserting a plant embryo having a shoot end into a shoot restraint comprising an interior surface, wherein at least one of the interior surface of the shoot restraint and the plant embryo is contacted with a hydrated gel before or after inserting the plant embryo into the shoot restraint. The hydrated gel may comprise nutrients for the plant embryo. Another aspect of the invention provides manufactured seeds comprising a hydrated gel disposed between the shoot restraint and the plant embryo.

    摘要: An ozone generator in which an air pump discharges air through a plurality of juxtaposed, successive, tubular housings, each of which has concentric wire mesh electrodes separated by dielectric tubes. A high a.c. potential, insufficient to cause a spark discharge, is imposed across the electrodes so that the oxygen of the air is progressively converted into ozone. The ozone laden air is directed through non-return valves into water flowing in a pipe for the purpose of destroying bacteria therein.
