Abstract: A stereoscopic six-degree of freedom viewing experience with a monoscopic 360-degree video is provided. A monoscopic 360-degree video of a subject scene can be processed by analyzing each frame to recover a three-dimensional geometric representation, and recover a camera motion path. Utilizing the recovered three-dimensional geometric representation and camera motion path, a dense three-dimensional geometric representation of the subject scene is generated. The processed video can be provided for stereoscopic display via a device. As motion of the device is detected, novel viewpoints can be stereoscopically synthesized for presentation in real time, so as to provide an immersive virtual reality experience based on the original monoscopic 360-degree video and the detected motion of the device.

Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein display depth effects in digital artwork based on movement of a display. In one technique, a first rendering of the digital artwork is displayed on the display. While the first rendering is displayed, a movement of the display is determined based on motion information from a motion sensor associated with the display. Based on the movement of the display, a position of the digital artwork is determined relative to a fixed gaze direction and a fixed light direction in a 3 dimensional (3D) model. A second rendering of the digital artwork is displayed on the display on the artwork. Displaying the second rendering involves displaying a depth effect based on variable depth of the digital artwork and the position of the digital artwork relative to the fixed gaze direction and the fixed light direction in the 3D model.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a brush deformation system that efficiently models bristles of a digital brush to generate realistic digital paintings. In particular, the brush deformation system can intuitively and realistically model bristle deformation and splitting in response to user drawing input. For example, in various embodiments, the brush deformation system utilizes a digital cage and corresponding deformation weights to collectively model a plurality of bristles in a digital brush. In addition, the brush deformation system can model brush tip splitting using a bristle spreading modifier that accurately models splitting effects that result from pressure being applied to the digital brush. Further, the brush deformation system can leverage GPU architecture to efficiently render digital strokes.
