    Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, apparatus, and computer programs for determining availability of soft time-domain resources for a node in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message from the IAB donor; determining, based on the RRC message, whether soft time-domain resources are available for the IAB node; and in response to determining that soft time-domain resources are available, scheduling a transmission with a child node using the available soft time-domain resources.

The method includes: processing a first signal sent by a NR evolved NodeB (gNodeB) regarding a primary physical random access channel (PRACH) configuration to be used to encode for transmission a first communication to the gNodeB; processing a second signal sent by the gNodeB regarding a secondary PRACH configuration different from the primary PRACH configuration and to be used to encode for transmission a second communication to the gNodeB; determining the primary PRACH configuration from the first signal and the secondary PRACH from the second signal; and switching from the primary PRACH configuration to the secondary PRACH configuration and encode for transmission the second communication to the gNodeB based on the secondary PRACH configuration.

    Abstract: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for directional communication are generally described herein. The eNB may transmit, during a downlink sub-frame, a first beam refinement training signal and an uplink scheduling block to a first UE according to a downlink transmission direction from the eNB to the first UE. The eNB 104 may further transmit, during the downlink sub-frame, a second beam refinement training signal and a downlink scheduling block to a second UE according to a downlink transmission direction from the eNB to the second UE. The uplink scheduling block may indicate scheduled uplink resources for a scheduled uplink transmission by the first UE and the downlink scheduling block may indicate scheduled downlink resources for a scheduled downlink transmission to the second UE.

    Abstract: Neighbor cell hearability can be improved by including an additional reference signal that can be detected at a low sensitivity and a low signal-to-noise ratio, by introducing non-unity frequency reuse for the signals used for a time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurement, e.g., orthogonality of signals transmitted from the serving cell sites and the various neighbor cell sites. The new reference signal, called the TDOA-RS, is proposed to improve the hearability of neighbor cells in a cellular network that deploys 3GPP EUTRAN (LTE) system, and the TDOA-RS can be transmitted in any resource blocks (RB) for PDSCH and/or MBSFN subframe, regardless of whether the latter is on a carrier supporting both PMCH and PDSCH or not. Besides the additional TDOA-RS reference signal, an additional synchronization signal (TDOA-sync) may also be included to improve the hearability of neighbor cells.

    Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for providing semi-static integrated access backhaul (IAB) resource configurations in an IAB network. For instance, a central unit (CU) of an IAB donor can provide, to a distributed unit (DU) of an IAB node, F1 application protocol (F1AP) signaling data indicative of a semi-static IAB resource configuration regarding at least one of downlink resources, uplink resources, or flexible resources. The semi-static IAB resource configuration indicates whether the at least one of downlink resources, uplink resources, or flexible resources are hard resources, soft resources, or not available resources. The CU can further provide, to a mobile termination (MT) of the IAB node, radio resource control (RRC) signaling data indicative of the semi-static IAB resource configuration.
