摘要:
In a scroll-type compressor, the sum of pressure receiving areas of the upper end surfaces of crank portion of a crankshaft and the upper end surface of a balance weight is made substantially equal to the sum of the pressure receiving areas of the lower end surface of the shaft portion of the crankshaft and the lower end surface of the balance weight, the surfaces being subjected to internal pressures of the compressor. Consequently, only the downward force produced by the weights of the crankshaft and the rotor of a driving motor is applied to the crankshaft as an axial load which is born by a thrust bearing. Since the thrust bearing is required only to bear a small thrust load, it is free from the problems such as rapid wear and seizure.

A scroll type fluid machine having two scroll members each having an end plate and a spiral wrap formed on the end plate, the scroll members being coupled to each other such that the wraps thereof mate with each other. One of two scroll members being adapted to make an orbitary movement with respect to the other scroll member while being prevented from rotating around its own axis, so as to form at least one working chamber of different pressures between two scroll members. At least two pressing force imparting chambers are formed on the opposite side of the orbitary scroll member to the wrap. The pressing force imparting chambers includes a first chamber which is communicated through a communication passage with at least one of the working chambers which is not materially communicating with a low pressure port and is not at all communicating with a high pressure port of the machine, and a second chamber which is communicated with the high pressure port through a communication passage, so that fluid pressures of different levels are applied to the first and second pressing force imparting chambers so as to produce a force which presses the orbitary scroll member to the other scroll member.

In a scroll fluid compressor including orbiting and stationary scroll members having end plates and wraps in vortical form in upstanding positions on the end plates meshing with each other to define therebetween spaces for compressing a fluid introduced through an inlet line and discharging the compressed fluid through an outlet line, flat plates in vortical form having surface finishes of higher precision than the end plates are placed in valleys between the outer wraps and the inner wraps of the scroll members to enable the wrap of the orbiting scroll member to move in orbiting movement while having the forward ends of the wraps in sliding contact with the surfaces of the flat plates in vortical form. Stepped portions may be formed on the bottoms of the valleys to hold the flat plates in vortical form in place, or space may be provided between the flat plates in vortical form and the bottoms of the valleys to be filled with a filler material from outside through ducts formed in the end plates, to bond the flat plates in vortical form to the end plates to enable the forward ends of the wraps to be maintained in uniform contact with the flat plates in vortical form.
