    摘要: An amount of toner consumption accompanying development of an image corresponding to the image data is calculated based on image data, and a corrected consumption amount is calculated by multiplying the calculated amount of toner consumption by a predetermined correction ratio that is less than 1. Further, toner is supplied based on the calculated corrected consumption amount. As a result, it is possible to prevent excessive supply of toner, and to supply toner without time delay.

    摘要: An ink cartridge includes an ink containing section including an ink absorbing body made of a porous material for retaining ink. The ink cartridge satisfies 200≦N·R≦320, where N is the cell density, expressed in the number of pores per inch, of the ink absorbing body before the ink absorbing body is contained in the ink containing section; and R is a compressibility, which is a volume ratio of the ink absorbing body when the ink absorbing body is contained in a compressed state in the ink containing section to the ink absorbing body before the ink absorbing body is contained in the ink containing section. With this configuration, it is possible to (1) preventing ink leakage that is caused when the ink cartridge is inserted or detached, (2) realize stable supply of the ink when continuous ejection is performed, and (3) achieve effective utilization of the ink cartridge volume, thereby realizing an ink cartridge and an image forming apparatus which provide design indices for the ink absorbing body in accordance with properties of the ink.

    摘要: An interface that allows a user to model and analyze the properties of three dimensional surface and the regions surrounding such surfaces. The user manipulates a deformable physical modeling material that defines the geometry of a surface. A position sensor such as a laser scanner captures position data specifying the geometry of the surface. A processor processes the geometry data using a selected analysis function to produce result data representing computed characteristics of the surface or its surrounding region. The result data projected as an image onto the deformable surface. The interface permits the user to modify a surface geometry and directly visualize the characteristics of the modified geometry in real time.
