Abstract: A physical host agent receives configuration information from a virtual computer system service specifying network traffic information to be extracted from network traffic for one or more virtual machines. The agent extracts the specified network traffic information from the network traffic for the one or more virtual machines and aggregates the network traffic information into one or more data segments for storage in a repository. A publishing sub-system of the service obtains the one or more data segments and compiles the one or more data segments into data logs for delivery to an analytics service to make the network traffic information available to customers.

Abstract: A virtualization management component of a particular host at a virtualized computing determines that a packet duplication phase of a migration of a virtual machine from a source host to the particular host has begun. The virtualization management component detects that a migrated version of the virtual machine, instantiated at the particular virtualization host, has generated a baseline packet directed to a destination address. The virtualization management component sends a first encapsulation packet comprising the baseline packet to an encapsulation intermediary associated with the destination address. The virtualization management component sends a second encapsulation packet comprising the baseline packet to the source virtualization host, with a directive to forward the second encapsulation packet to the encapsulation intermediary.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for instance host configuration are disclosed. A system includes a plurality of instance hosts configurable for resource instances of a network-accessible service, and control servers to manage remote configuration of the instance hosts. In response to an instance configuration request from a client, a selected control server transmits, to a selected instance host, a sequence of one or more commands. The selected instance host instantiates a remote command executor. The remote command executor initiates configuration operations corresponding to the command sequence, and terminates. The selected control server provides a response to the instance configuration request, based at least in part on results of the operations initiated by the executor.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for a system that hardware locks a virtual machine to a host machine. The host machine can include a processor and a memory. Abstract: Methods and apparatus for profile-guided preloading for virtualized resources are described. A block-level storage volume whose contents are to be populated via data transfers from a repository service is programmatically attached to a compute instance. An indication of data transfers from the repository to a block storage service implementing the volume is obtained, corresponding to a particular phase of program execution at the compute instance. A storage profile is generated, based at least in part on the indication of data transfers. The storage profile is subsequently used to pre-load data from the repository service on behalf of other compute instances.
