Abstract: The removal of software operators can be managed according to some aspects described herein. In one example, a system can receive a command to remove an operator from a computing cluster and, in response, determine a set of actions previously performed in the computing cluster in relation to adding the operator to the computing cluster. Each action can involve the creation, modification, or deletion of at least one object in the computing cluster. The system can also determine a particular order in which the set of actions were previously performed relative to one another. The system can then assist with removing the operator from the computing cluster by causing an inverse of each action in the set of actions to be performed in the computing cluster in a reverse order to the particular order.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for use with a cloud computing environment, for estimation of performance impact upon a hypervisor provided within such environments, and the use of such estimation in placing virtual machines within the environment. A noisy-neighbor score value, generated for a particular hypervisor socket on a multi-core processor architecture, provides a predicted measure of performance drop which affected virtual machines placed on that hypervisor socket may experience at a particular point in time, due to activity of neighboring virtual machines on one or more sockets of the hypervisor. The predicted measure of performance drop can be automatically calculated by the system based on the amount and nature of compute usage on the hypervisor, and data defining a machine learning model developed from or through the operation and assessment of controlled noisy-neighbor studies over a collection of compute and memory-intensive workloads.

Abstract: Rebalancing in a fleet of storage systems using data science including generating, by the cloud-based rebalancing system, a plurality of workload migration scenarios to address a detected workload imbalance among a plurality of workloads in a fleet of storage systems; determining, by the cloud-based rebalancing system, a plurality of movement vectors for each workload migration scenario, wherein each of the plurality of movement vectors describes a consideration factor for migrating a workload of the plurality of workloads within the fleet of storage systems; and generating, by the cloud-based rebalancing system, at least one rebalancing proposal based on the plurality of movement vectors for each workload migration scenario.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples, are methods, systems, and machine-readable mediums in which application state is saved using in-memory versioning in a shared memory pool of disaggregated memory. By utilizing a disaggregated memory pool, the processing resources may be on separate devices than the memory those resources are using. As a result of this architecture, a failure of hardware of processing resources or an application does not necessarily also cause the hardware resources of the memory devices to fail. This allows a standby application executing on standby processing resources to quickly resume execution when a primary application fails by utilizing the memory pool assigned to the primary application in the memory pool.

Abstract: Disclosed in the present application a method for electing a master node in a cluster. The method comprises the following steps: on the basis of a hyper-converged cloud platform, creating a storage cluster, and configuring a status detection program and a full response operation function; performing active node screening on the storage cluster, so as to obtain an active node set and a candidate node set; setting a first data situation, detecting a second data situation of the active node set, and executing a determination step on the basis of the first data situation and the second data situation, so as to obtain a determination result; when the determination result is a first result, setting an arrangement sequence and a first selection position, and electing a first master node according to the arrangement sequence, the first selection position and the active node set; and when the determination result is a second result, configuring a consistency election algorithm and a distributed election algorithm, and electing a second master node on the basis of the candidate node set, the consistency election algorithm and the distributed election algorithm. By means of the present application, an excessively long election time of a master node and unsuccessful election of the master node are avoided, thereby improving the deployment efficiency of a cluster.
