Abstract: Techniques for controlling the maximum transmission power utilized by transmitters of user equipment are provided. More specifically, a base station may control a transmission power of a transmitter of user equipment that is communicatively coupled to the base station to cause the transmission power of the transmitter to comply with regulations of a geographic location that the user equipment is in. In addition to the base station, the user equipment may control the transmission power of the transmitter. In either case, the transmission power may be based on whether the user equipment is located indoors or outdoors, whether the base station is deployed indoors or outdoors, or both.

Abstract: When user equipment (UE) is to be handed over, the network and/or the UE determines a best beam for the UE's interactions with the target cell before the handover is completed. One or more additional next best beams may also be determined. The network (e.g., the target cell) allocates one or more uplink (UL) grants that corresponds to the best beam. Via a current cell, the UE receives the one or more UL grants from the network pertaining to communications between the UE and the target cell. The UE determines whether any beams of the one or more UL grants satisfy beam criteria. The beam criteria may include 1) an allocated beam being the current best beam or 2) an allocated beam being within a strength threshold of the current best beam. If the criteria is not satisfied, the UE initiates another handover type (e.g., a RACH-based handover).

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for operating transceiver circuitry to communicate signals on various frequency ranges based on primary cell and/or secondary cell assignments. A controller associated with the transceiver circuitry may operate a receiver to receive a handover initiation packet using a first frequency range as a primary cell from a base station. The controller may adjust the receiver and a transmitter to use a second frequency range as the primary cell, to adjust the receiver and the transmitter to detach from the first frequency range as the primary cell, and to reset information corresponding to the first frequency range to enable attachment of the first frequency range to a secondary cell.

Abstract: User equipment may configure a transmitter or receiver to conform to regulations or standards of a geographical region to communicate with non-terrestrial networks (e.g., satellite networks). In one embodiment, the user equipment may receive an indication of a regulation or standard to which to conform to from a terrestrial communication node, and apply an emission mask to the transmitter based on the regulation or standard. The user equipment may additionally or alternatively configure the receiver to be compliant with a noise level tolerance of a received signal specified by the regulation or standard. In some embodiments, the user equipment may implement a frequency offset between the received signal and an interfering signal associated with the noise level tolerance that is scaled based at least on a channel bandwidth associated with the desired signal. Moreover, the user equipment may scale the noise level tolerance based on the frequency offset.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to techniques for measuring and/or detecting a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) of a received signal at a user equipment (UE). The received signal may include a desired signal, co-channel interference, adjacent channel interference, and an in-band blocker. The UE may filter (e.g., remove) the various interferences and in-band blocker. The UE may determine or measure a power (or Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI)) of the desired signal and a power (or RSSI) of the co-channel interference separately because the desired signal and the co-channel interference overlap in frequency. To do so, the UE may determine a total power of the received signal including the desired signal and co-channel interference. The UE may receive the desired signal again while an uplink transmission is deactivated (and thus without the interference). The UE may then calculate the SIR based on the total power and the power of the desired signal.

Abstract: An electronic device may transmit a communication request to a base station having an indication of a number of its receive branches and an indication of whether the communication request is designated as an urgent service fulfillment. The base station may delay a denial of the communication request until receiving the indication of whether the communication request is designated as using the urgent service fulfillment to reduce a likelihood of prematurely rejecting the communication request. The base station may also handover the communication request to a base station that supports the urgent service fulfillment. The base station may also be barred from transferring the user equipment to a frequency layer preferred by the base station when the communication request of the user equipment is designated as an urgent service fulfillment.
