摘要: A spread spectrum communications system includes an antenna array for receiving different summations of desired and undesired signals, and receivers are coupled to the antenna array. Each receiver operates based upon a respective channel code for de-spreading the desired and undesired signals for determining at least one desired signal associated with the respective channel code, and for combining the at least one desired signal and the undesired signals after the de-spreading. A processor is coupled to the receivers for forming a mixing matrix based upon the combined signals from each receiver, with entries on a diagonal of the mixing matrix corresponding to the desired signals and entries adjacent the diagonal corresponding to the undesired signals. The processor also processes the mixing matrix so that a level of the desired signals increases and a level of the undesired signals decreases. A demodulator is coupled to the processor for demodulating at least one desired signal.

At least two of the N antenna elements are correlated and have different polarizations for receiving at least two of the N different summations of the M source signals, with N and M being greater than 1. A receiver is connected to the antenna array for receiving the at least N different summations of the M source signals. A blind signal separation processor is connected to the receiver for forming a mixing matrix comprising the at least N different summations of the M source signals, and for separating desired source signals from the mixing matrix. 摘要: A communications device for separating source signals provided by M signal sources includes an antenna array comprising N antenna elements for receiving at least N different summations of the M source signals. A respective in-phase and quadrature module is connected downstream to each antenna element for separating each one of the N different summations of the M source signals received thereby into an in-phase and quadrature component set. A blind signal separation processor forms a mixing matrix comprising at least 2N different summations of the M source signals, with each in-phase and quadrature component set providing 2 inputs into the mixing matrix. The mixing matrix has a rank equal up to 2N. The desired source signals are separated from the mixing matrix by the blind signal separation processor.

摘要: An instrument, article and method are provided for minimizing pain during administration by injection of a liquid, such as, an anesthetic. The instrument has a forward end. A rod or lightpipe mounted freely for vibration projects out of the forward end. The article, a single use tip, is composed of a tip sleeve removably mounted on the forward end of the instrument and a tip member removably mounted on the projecting rod or lightpipe to vibrate a preselected injection site on a human or animal. The tip sleeve and tip member are covered by an elastic overmold that enables the tip member to vibrate freely with respect to the tip sleeve and light from the lightpipe to illuminate the injection site. The overmold of the single use tip is torn during removal of the single use tip from the instrument.

摘要: A method and apparatus for preventing communication link degradation due to wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) position changes and detrimental orientation. When it is determined that at least one of a plurality of WTRUs in a communication link is moving or is going to move, the radio frequency (RF) beam pattern and/or link characteristics of a WTRU is adjusted to enhance communications. In another embodiment, the RF beam pattern and/or link characteristics are adjusted when it is determined that a gap in the communication link has occurred or will occur because one of the WTRUs has disengaged or is going to disengage from the communication link. In another embodiment, when a WTRU is in an undesired orientation, the WTRU instructs a user to physically move the WTRU. In another embodiment, information about the orientation of a WTRU is conveyed to a network that makes adjustments to enhance communications with the WTRU.
