    Abstract: A method for allocating aggressive signal carriers in a target band of a wireless communication network is provided. The network includes at least one long term evolution (LTE) node and at least one non-LTE transmission source. The target band includes at least two adjacent pairs of contiguous radio frequency (RF) channels. The method includes steps of scanning each contiguous RF channel of the target band to measure a respective value of non-LTE RF energy therein, determining, from the measured non-LTE RF energy, that a first one of the contiguous RF channels is occupied by a non-LTE carrier, and allocating an LTE carrier to a second one of the contiguous RF channels, different than the first one of the contiguous RF channels, based on the determination.

    Abstract: A method for detecting aggressive signal transmission signatures in a wireless communication network is provided. The network includes at least one cooperative device, an access point, and at least one non-cooperative device. The method includes steps of generating a matrix of at least 8 bits configured to register each instance of at least one of a clear-to-send frame and a request-to-send frame transmitted between the at least one cooperative device and the access point during a specified duration, calculating a cumulative distribution function based on the registered instances within the generated matrix for a probability of the presence of an aggressive transmission signal by the at least one non-cooperative device within a measurable vicinity of one or more of the cooperative device and the access point, and determining the presence of the aggressive transmission signal based on the calculated cumulative distribution function being greater than a predetermined threshold.

    Abstract: An assisted random-access procedure allows band sharing between New Radio Unlicensed (NR-U) and Wi-Fi to improve coexistence of NR-U and Wi-Fi in shared unlicensed bands (e.g., below 7 GHz). To connect to an NR-U network, NR-U User Equipment (UE) receives and decodes an NR-U preamble of an NR-U wireless transmission to determine NR-U channel occupancy time (COT). The NR-U UE detects Wi-Fi wireless transmissions and decodes a Wi-Fi preamble to determine Wi-Fi COT. A random access (RA) opportunity is acquired based upon the NR-U wireless transmission and the NR-U COT. When the RA opportunity is not during the Wi-Fi COT, a PRACh message is transmitted from the NR-U UE to a NR-U base station (gNB) to allow the NR-U UE to join the NR-U network. NR-U transmissions may include an NR-U common preamble that may be decoded by existing Wi-Fi devices to avoid collisions with NR-U wireless transmissions.

The method includes steps of generating a matrix of each instance of request-to-send (RTS) messages received by the access point during a specified observation cycle, recording, in a memory of the access point, a number of cumulative RTS messages received from the station, calculating a cumulative distribution function (CDF), based on the recorded RTS message instances in the memory, for a probability of the presence of an aggressive transmission signal by the non-cooperative transmission source within a transmission range of the access point, and determining the presence of the aggressive transmission signal based on the calculated CDF being greater than a predetermined threshold.
