Abstract: Loading of a component to an operating system process that is being executed on a node is initiated. Thereafter, a first available resource location is sequentially determined among a plurality of ranked component resource locations and according to the ranking. Subsequently, the component is loaded to the operating system process via the first available resource location. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods for updating firmware of medical devices while minimizing clinical impact are described. A method includes receiving, by a control module of a patient care device, a new configuration package, including firmware for the control module and/or a first functional module of the patient care device, storing the new configuration package in a first memory bank of the control module, wherein a second configuration package comprising a current version of firmware for at least one of the control module and the first functional module is currently stored in a second memory bank of the control module, determining whether the new configuration package includes a new version of the firmware, and when a new version is included, transmitting the new version to the first functional module, for storage in a different memory bank than a memory bank currently storing a firmware currently used by the first functional module.

Abstract: One or more medical devices are configured to connect to a predetermined temporary provisioning network of a healthcare organization, the temporary provisioning network being different than a healthcare network of the healthcare organization. After the devices are received by the healthcare organization, and powered up for the first time, device identifiers corresponding to the medical devices are received at a server remote from the healthcare organization, from the temporary provisioning network, together with an indication that the medical devices are requesting access to a management server within a healthcare network of the healthcare organization. On determining that the medical devices are predetermined to receive access to the management server, a provisioning service configures, through the temporary provisioning network, the medical devices to access and communicate with the management server, and informs the management server that the medical devices have been configured to access and communicate with the management server.

Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods for distributing notifications to a user. The method can include receiving data encapsulating notifications from a device connected to a network that provide information relating to the device's status. The device can provide a health related treatment. The method can associate each notification with one or more notification categories relating to a function performed by the device or a location of the device. A table of users having one or more subscriptions to these notification categories can be accessed. The subscriptions can be automatically assigned to users based on the users' role. A user can be identified from the table to distribute the one or more notifications to. The user can have a subscription that matches a notification category of the received notifications, and data comprising the notifications can be distributed to the user. Related apparatus, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: Centralized systems execute one or more applications for monitoring and operating a plurality of network enabled medical devices. An indication to start a selected application at the centralized system or at a network enabled medical device is received at the centralized system/network enabled medical device. The selected application may require a license to operate and, at the time the indication is received, may have a first license available. Instead of using the first license, the centralized system/network enabled medical device may determine to inherit at least a portion of a second license to operate the selected application. The centralized system/network enabled medical device may inherit at least the portion of the second license to form an inherited license, where the inherited license enables features of the selected application. Using the inherited license, the selected application is started with the enabled features. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: A collaborative review of a data set can be initiated that specifies a plurality of user-modifiable configuration settings for a medical device. Thereafter, first user-generated input can be received via a graphical user interface that selects at least one recipient entity to review the data set. Second user-generated input can be received that identifies an area of the data set to be reviewed by the at least one recipient entity. Data can then be transmitted to the at least one recipient entity that includes the identified area of the data set or a pointer to the identified area of the data set. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods for transferring files from a file transfer queue and modifying the file transfer sequence. In one aspect, the method can include maintaining a file transfer queue of at least one file. The file transfer queue can include a plurality of queue positions including a top position, and each queue position can store one of the files. Each file can be associated with a transfer destination device and a delivery parameter. The delivery parameter can indicate a delivery priority. The method can further include moving a file to the top position based on the associated delivery parameter, determining whether the transfer destination devices associated with the file in the top position is connected to a network, and transferring the file in the top position to the associated transfer destination device based on the determining. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods for generating an alert to perform maintenance on a medical device based on actual usage of the medical device. In one aspect, the method can include measuring a parameter value for a parameter type. The parameter type can be associated with a component in a medical device connected to a network and related to a function performed by the component. The method can further include locally storing at the medical device the measured parameter value, the parameter type, and a first value that indicates when the measured parameter value was measured; accessing a maintenance threshold value that specifies a performance limit for the parameter type; comparing the maintenance threshold value with the measured parameter value; and generating an alert based on the comparing to indicate that maintenance is needed for the component. Related apparatus, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.
