The method further includes attaching a pocket having a central hollow within the receptacle, and securing the jack element within the central hollow with a press fit such that the centerline of the jack element is substantially coaxial with the axis of rotation of the drill bit.

    摘要: In one aspect of the invention, a system for removing a layer of a paved surface includes a vehicle adapted to traverse a paved surface in a selected direction. A milling drum attached to the vehicle may be adapted to rotate around an axle substantially normal the selected direction of the vehicle. A moldboard may be positioned rearward of the milling drum and also connected to the vehicle. The moldboard may comprise an end that is adapted to push aggregate removed from the paved surface in the selected direction. A plurality of nozzles may be disposed proximate the end of the moldboard which may also be in communication with a fluid reservoir through a fluid pathway.

    摘要: The invention is a system for transmitting data through downhole environments comprising a downhole network integrated into a downhole tool string. The downhole tool string comprises a plurality of downhole components. Each downhole component also comprises a conductor intermediate and operably connected to mating communication elements proximate the ends of the downhole component. The mating communication elements comprise magnetically conductive portions with different curie temperatures. The magnetically conductive portion may comprise segments or solid portions adapted to operate in the harsh downhole environments with temperatures ranging from 25 C to 275 C. Each downhole component is selected from the group consisting of drill pipes, drill collars, bottom hole assemblies, reamers, jars and/or production pipes.

    摘要: In one aspect of the present invention, an outer diameter (O.D.) centerless grinding machine for use in grinding a diamond workpiece has a grinding wheel positioned parallel to a regulating wheel which is adapted to press a cylindrical workpiece into the grinding wheel as the regulating wheel rotates. Electronic equipment may be adapted to adjust a pressure of the regulating wheel against the grinding wheel. Also, a carrier may be adapted to house the workpiece, the carrier being attached to a translation mechanism adapted to move the carrier between the wheels such that the workpiece is in contact with both wheels.
