Abstract:
A hydraulic device includes a housing and a closure element arranged thereon. The closure element is connected to the housing by torsional welding.
Abstract:
An actuator assist apparatus for use with an actuator has a housing and a piston member slidably disposed in the housing. The piston member divides the interior of the housing into a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber. The actuator assist apparatus is configurable between a first, primed, configuration and an activated configuration. A force applicator is configured to store energy when the apparatus is in the primed configuration and release the energy to move the piston member relative to the housing. Movement of the piston member applies a force which assists in urging the actuator towards an extended configuration, thereby reducing the minimum operating pressure of the actuator.
Abstract:
The present invention is a distributed piston elastomeric accumulator which stores energy when its elastomeric member stretches from its original length in response to the flow of a pressurized fluid. The stored energy is returned when the fluid flow is reversed and the accumulator discharges the fluid as its elastomeric member returns to its original length and moves the piston to its initial position. At least one part of the novelty of the invention is that the accumulator is not subject to radial strain gradients and the accumulator allows for precise pressure and linear position measurements. Accordingly, the invention allows for optimization of the energy strain storage capacity of a given elastomer.
Abstract:
A device for storing fluid, of a transmission hydraulic system, having at least one storage chamber that is defined by a housing and a delimiting device, which can be connected with the hydraulic system. The volume of the chamber depends on operation of the delimiting device and/or the housing. The delimiting device and/or housing can be set such that the storage chamber has a defined volume, in opposition to a restoring effort of the housing and/or delimiting device, starting from an operating condition which differs from the operating condition equivalent to the minimum volume of the storage chamber toward their operating condition equivalent to the minimum storage chamber volume. When the holding device is actuated, the operating conditions of the delimiting device and/or the housing assembly vary between operating conditions in which the storage chamber volume is either a maximum or corresponds to the defined storage chamber volume.
Abstract:
An accumulator assembly is includes a piston located within a pressure canister. The pressure canister has a piston stop therein. The piston stop is located radially outboard of a biasing member or spring located within the pressure canister between the pressure canister and the piston. A support bracket is disposed on an end of the pressure canister in alignment with the spring. The outboard piston stop and the support bracket reduce the stresses due to reaction forces when the accumulator assembly is fully charged. By reducing the stresses due to reaction forces, the accumulator assembly can be made from steel casting or plastic molding without sacrificing the charge capacity of the accumulator assembly.
Abstract:
A microfluidic valve assembly includes a structure defining a microfluidic fluid path and an actuator that can be moved between different positions controlling flow through the channel. In one embodiment, the actuator can be threaded into at least a portion of the structure, and can be moved rotationally between a first position, causing relatively greater constriction of a microfluidic fluid path, and a second position causing relatively lesser constriction of the fluid path. Actuating the actuator, e.g., by rotation, can deform material between the valve and the fluid path, thereby constricting at least a portion of the underlying fluid path and regulating the flow of a fluid in the fluid path. In another aspect, the invention provides a reservoir into which fluid can be placed and from which fluid can be introduced into a microfluidic system. In one embodiment, the reservoir is expandable and thereby able to store fluid under pressure for delivery to a microfluidic system.

Abstract:
A valve of an accumulator device, which is formed by an accumulator cylinder and an accumulator piston guided therein, includes a valve sealing body. The valve sealing body is configured to selectively open and close a valve opening at a valve seat. The valve also includes an opening mechanism configured to selectively raise the valve sealing body from the valve seat. The opening mechanism is held by a spring element, and the spring element is formed by a punched and bent part.
Abstract:
A hydraulic accumulator includes a housing with a pair of ends, a piston slidably disposed in the interior of the housing, and a biasing member that urges the piston towards one end of the housing. The accumulator further includes a fluid flow control device in communication with a fluid chamber defined by a face of the piston and the interior surface of the housing. The desired amount of fluid entering and exiting the fluid chamber is controlled by the fluid flow control device according to the desired pressure within the fluid chamber as determined by a pressure sensor which is also in communication with the fluid chamber.
Abstract:
A low pressure accumulator for an anti-lock brake system of a vehicle. The low pressure accumulator includes a cylinder having one end communicated with a fluid path connected to a valve and a pump and an opposite end formed with an opening, a piston moving back and forth in the cylinder, a spring installed in the cylinder to elastically support the piston, and a plug installed in the opening of the cylinder to support one end of the spring. The plug includes a vent to ventilate air through an inside and an outside of the cylinder.
