Abstract: The invention discloses detergent compositions containing acrylic acid polymers, including methacrylic acid/ethyl acrylate polymers. In certain embodiments compositions employ an acrylic acid polymer comprising at least 40 wt-% polymerized residues of acrylic monomers, at least 50 wt-% of at least one surfactant, a solvent, at least one water conditioning polymer, and water. The detergent compositions provide increased soil removal and soil suspension when treating textiles, namely through use of industrial laundering machinery. The detergent compositions and methods of employing the same beneficially clean and prevent redeposition of soils containing high concentrations of oil and metal particulates, as are customary in industrial laundering soils.

Abstract: A method for enhancing bleaching efficacy for treatment of articles, including for example laundry is disclosed. Methods for sanitizing and/or disinfecting and bleaching laundry and other articles is provided by washing the articles with a peroxyformic acid composition at a first pH for effective antimicrobial efficacy, thereafter applying an alkaline source to increase the pH for addition of a bleaching activator and/or catalyst for the bleaching agent at a second pH, and lastly draining the remaining components of the peroxyformic acid composition, and the bleaching agent and bleach activator/catalyst from the articles. The methods can be provided as part of a laundry cleaning operation and can be utilized in industrial and commercial applications.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to use of an encapsulated chlorine bleach to reduce gas evolution when reacted with sodium bromide during dispensing. The compositions include a coated chlorine combined with the sodium bromide which beneficially suppresses the chemical reaction, and therefore gas release, while providing a single, solid, all-in-one composition. Compositions, methods of dispensing and methods of use are disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel combined laundry detergent, bleach, and antimicrobial composition incorporating novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compounds, and methods for making and using them. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds used in compositions of the invention are storage stable, water soluble and have low to no odor. Compositions of the invention may be in the form of a liquid, a solid, or a gel. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds useful in preparing compositions of the present invention can be formed from non-petroleum based renewable materials.
