Abstract: The invention includes ware detergent compositions which provides superior cleaning and removal of oily and fatty soils, without the production of excessive foam. According to the invention applicants have discovered that use of a quaternary cationic surfactant in combination with a nonionic low foaming surfactant can provide oily soil removal from ware that is superior to traditional warewash detergent formulations. Compositions for alkaline, preferably solid, warewash detergents are disclosed, as well as their use in dish machines and methods of manufacture.

Abstract: Solid detergent compositions designed to maintain solid integrity throughout production of the pressed solid, during mechanical conveying and during ejection from molds, are disclosed. Solid detergent compositions having unexpected immediate block hardness without a curing step are provided by inclusion of a hardness additive composition comprising a synergistic ratio of polycarboxylic acid polymer chelants to aminocarboxylate chelants. Methods of making solid detergent compositions and solid detergent compositions having at least substantially similar cleaning performance to solid detergent compositions without the hardness additive composition are also provided.

Abstract: Detergent compositions and methods of preparing and using the detergent compositions are disclosed. The detergent compositions comprise a polymer system comprising at least one polycarboxylic acid polymer, copolymer, or terpolymer, an alkalinity source comprising an alkali metal carbonate, a nonionic surfactant and water. The detergent compositions are suitable at alkaline pH and reduce or prevent scale formation, improve soil dispersion, and provide effective detergency.

Abstract: The invention provides a concentrated detergent composition comprising alkali metal carbonate, alkali metal percarbonate, and a peroxidation catalyst according to formula (I) [(LpMq)nXr]Ys, wherein each L independently is an organic ligand containing at least three nitrogen atoms that coordinate with the metal M; M is Mn or Fe; each X independently is a coordinating or bridging group selected from the group consisting of H2O, OH−, SH−, HO2−, O2−, O22−, S2−, F−, Cl−, Br−, I−, NO3−, NO2−, SO42−, SO32−, PO43−, N3−, CN−, NR3, NCS−, RCN, RS−, RCO2−, RO−, and with R being hydrogen or a C1 to C6 alkyl group; p is an integer from 1 to 4; q is an integer from 1 to 2; r is an integer from 0 to 6; Y is a counter ion; and s is the number of counter ions. The invention also relates to the use of said concentrated detergent composition as a warewashing detergent for the removal of starch soil.

Abstract: Methods of acidic warewashing are disclosed. The compositions can include other materials including surfactants and chelating agents, and are preferably phosphorous free. Methods of using the acidic compositions in combination with alkaline compositions are also disclosed. Exemplary methods include using the acidic compositions together with other compositions, including alkaline compositions and rinse aids employed in an alternating alkaline/acid/alkaline manner. The methods also include acidic compositions that serve multiple roles.
