摘要： An apparatus, a system, and a process for exchanging vehicle identification information subsequent to a collision are provided. The apparatus, system, and process include a host identification device connected to a vehicle data system of a host vehicle. At the time of collision the vehicle data system sends the host identification device a collision indication. Responsive to the collision indication, the host identification device establishes a wireless network connection with one or more responding identification devices. The host identification device further assemblies a vehicle identifier. The vehicle identifier may be based on a unique vehicle identification number provided by the vehicle data system. The host identification device exchanges vehicle identifiers with one or more responding identification devices. In addition, the host identification device may store one or more vehicle identifiers. The host identification device may transmit one or more vehicle identifiers to an authorized collection device.

The first client selects at least one attribute that describes at least one user in a user registry. After selecting the attributes, the first client selects a personalized alert to associate with the selected attributes. If a second client with characteristics described by the selected attributes sends the first client a message, the assigned personalized alert will be activated.

A system for selectively blocking unsolicited instant messages can include an instant messaging client, at least one human sensory test and, a spim sentry. Notably, the spim sentry can be configured to selectively block an incoming instant message based upon an application of the human sensory test to a source of the incoming instant message. For example, the human sensory test can be a visual test where identifiable text is obscured in a picture. Also, the human sensory test can be an audible test where identifiable audio is obscured in an audio message.

The system allows recipients to set filter criteria for filtering instant messages, the filter criteria being selected from a database of characteristics, or registry, for senders of the instant messages. A channel assessment module is configured to assess the wireless communications, including interference signals, present on available wireless communications channels. The channel assessment module may establish quality parameters that at least partially describe the wireless communications quality of a given channel. A channel selection module is configured to select a best wireless communications channel based on the communications channel assessment. A channel connection module is configured to facilitate wireless communication between the wireless access point and the wireless client device on the best wireless communications channel.
