摘要: A method of processing paper checks that divides into two independent paths the processing of a data file representing a check and the digital image of the check. The data files and image files are separated both in time and in space, with the data files being used to promptly initiate the transfer of funds to and from appropriate accounts, while the paper checks, at a remote location and typically lagging in time, are scanned to create digital image files and deposited as an image or substitute check if deemed ACH ineligible. The method provides for the comparison of data files to image files, based on MICR information, to find any unmatching or mismatched items for exception processing and a process to manage ACH-ineligible items as an image or substitute check.

摘要: Protein geranylgeranyl transferase type I (GGTase-I), a Ca1a2X prenyltransferase, is an essential enzyme in eukaryotes. GGTase-I catalyzes the carboxyl-terminal lipidation of over one hundred proteins, including many GTP-binding regulatory proteins (G proteins). The presently disclosed subject matter comprises a plurality of crystal structures of mammalian GGTase-I in complex with substrates and products that provide the first structural information for this enzyme, facilitating the elucidation of a generalized method of action for all protein prenyltransferases; the method includes a role in product transport. The structures reveal specificity determinants that allow classification of putative protein prenyltransferase sequences and can facilitate optimization of GGTase-I and FTase modulators.

摘要: A process, system, and apparatus are disclosed for mitigating access point data rate degradation with respect to a wireless communication between a wireless access point and a wireless client device. A channel assessment module is configured to assess the wireless communications, including interference signals, present on available wireless communications channels. The channel assessment module may establish quality parameters that at least partially describe the wireless communications quality of a given channel. A channel selection module is configured to select a best wireless communications channel based on the communications channel assessment. A channel connection module is configured to facilitate wireless communication between the wireless access point and the wireless client device on the best wireless communications channel.

摘要: An electrical sensing apparatus includes a conductor having longitudinally extending sections with parallel central axes and a connector section which extends between the longitudinally extending sections. The connector section has a central axis which extends parallel to the central axes of the longitudinally extending sections. A magnetic flux sensor is disposed adjacent to the connector section to detect variations in current conducted through the conductor. The magnetic flux sensor may be at least partially disposed in a slot in the connector section and have a flux sensitive side surface which extends perpendicular to a central axis of the connector section. The magnetic flux sensor may include an electrically insulating material which is at least partially enclosed by the connector section and a Hall effect device which is supported by the electrically insulating material. The electrically insulating material may be disposed in engagement with the connector section.

摘要: A patient monitoring station includes a display that displays a plurality of sectors. A controller displays the patient data received from one or more remote medical devices in a corresponding sector of the display. The controller is programmed to collapse one or more sector in response to one of (1) not receiving patient data from the corresponding remote patient monitor or (2) receiving patient data not indicative of a pending patient event or alarm condition; and expand at least sectors that receive patient data indicative of a pending patient event or alarm condition.

摘要: One embodiment of an apparatus and method for treating agricultural animal wastewater that costs less to build, is easy to operate, and requires little energy input. The method employs natural systems for wastewater treatment; an initial anaerobic digestion treatment followed by batch floating aquatic plant treatment. The batch floating aquatic plant treatment of effluent and subsequent batch discharge provides increased control of the treatment process. Opportunistic collection and use of biogas and floating aquatic biomass results in additional benefits. The apparatus reduces the cost and land area required for the system by subdividing a lagoon into an anaerobic digestion treatment zone below the apparatus and a floating aquatic plant treatment zone above the apparatus. In addition, the apparatus is disposed in the lagoon in such a way that it facilitates the collection of biogas evolving from anaerobic digestion treatment beneath the apparatus by diverting it to areas to be collected.
