摘要： A connector for joining a first hollow structure to the side wall of a second hollow structure, the connector comprising: a fluid-constraining tube having a fluid-constraining neck extending therefrom, wherein the tube comprises a lumen having a first opening and a second opening and the neck comprises a lumen having a first opening and a second opening, the neck being joined to the tube so that the neck is in fluid communication with the tube intermediate the length of the tube, such that fluid entering the first opening of the tube can exit the second opening of the tube, and fluid entering the first opening of the neck can exit the second opening of the tube; at least the portions of the tube adjacent to the first opening of the tube and the second opening of the tube being biased radially outwardly so that they normally assume a radially-expanded configuration, but being capable of being restrained in a radially-contracted configuration, wherein the tube is sized so that, when it is in its radially-expanded configuration, it has an outer diameter which is larger than the inner diameter of the second hollow structure.

摘要： The invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming a hole in a wall of a hollow organ. The applicator includes a hole forming element for forming a hole in the wall of the organ, a positioning means for positioning the hole forming element, and a retractor element. In addition, the applicator includes a sequencing means for coordinating the relative movement of the retractor element and the hole forming element in a sequential manner to thereby carry out a procedure for forming a hole in the wall of the hollow organ. The sequencing means may further include a safety latch element operatively coupled to the retracting means and the hole forming element. The safety latch of the invention keeps prevents damage to the internal surface of the organ during the formation of the hole.

摘要： The malleolar pad of preferred embodiments of the present invention provides a treating physician with the ability to monitor pressure at a wound site, adjust the pressure to more accurately treat and facilitate healing of, for example, a pressure ulcer while providing adequate wound care. Pressure ulcers can have varied presentations with respect to open sores and the location of the wound. Thus, proper fixation methods provided by monitoring the pressure measurement devices which allow adjustment of the compressive forces applied by the malleolar pad provide rewarding outcomes for the patient and the physician.

摘要： The invention disclosed herein is directed at a suction coagulator having a contact wire and a suction tube which has a portion thereof circumscribed by an insulating layer. The suction tube is electrically conductive and electrically connected to the contact wire and portions of both the contact wire and the suction tube, with its insulating layer, have a layer of plastic material molded thereabout to form a first insert. The first insert includes a body section having a surface through which a vent extends and an airway is formed within the first insert in spaced parallel relation with the upper surface of the first insert and in communication with the vent. A vent activation button is integrally formed from the upper surface of the body section and a longitudinally extending baffle forms the lower wall of the airway.
