Abstract: A packet processing method includes sending, by the first provider edge (PE) device, a Media Access Control (MAC) entry update packet to a third PE device when a port of a first PE device that is connected to a customer edge (CE) device is switched from an activated state to a deactivated state, wherein the MAC entry update packet is sent to trigger the third PE device to delete a first MAC entry whose packet forwarding destination address is the first PE device, generating, through learning, a second MAC entry whose packet forwarding destination address is a second PE device, and forwarding a packet based on the second MAC entry.

Abstract: A virtual extensible local area network (VXLAN) packet forwarding method, device, and system, where the method includes setting, by a local VXLAN tunnel end point (VTEP) device based on a priority of a VXLAN tunnel, tunnel states of at least two VXLAN tunnels coupled to the local VTEP device, sending the tunnel states of the VXLAN tunnels to at least two peer VTEP devices, where the at least two VXLAN tunnels are in a one-to-one correspondence with the at least two peer VTEP devices, and separately confirming, by the at least two peer VTEP devices, the received tunnel states of the VXLAN tunnels. A VXLAN tunnel in an active state is in a working state, and a VXLAN tunnel in an inactive state is in a non-working state, thereby improving a redundancy protection capability of a VXLAN network.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a method and an apparatus for determining virtual machine VM migration. The method includes: after a VM is migrated, sending a gratuitous ARP packet or a RARP packet to an in-migration VTEP device; obtaining, by the VTEP device, a MAC address of the VM, searching an ARP cache table based on the MAC address, and obtaining an IP address of the VM; and constructing an ARP unicast request packet by using the IP address as a destination IP address, and if the VTEP device receives an ARP response packet sent by the VM for the ARP unicast request packet, determining that the VM is migrated.

Abstract: This application provides a packet transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a first transmission device, a first VXLAN packet sent by a first service device through a first virtual extensible local area network VXLAN tunnel; determining, by the first transmission device, first egress information corresponding to a first BD and a first destination media access control MAC address, based on a correspondence between the first BD, the first destination MAC address, and the first egress information; generating, by the first transmission device, a second VXLAN packet based on the first VXLAN packet and the first egress information, where the second VXLAN packet includes a second VNI and an Ethernet frame; and sending, by the first transmission device sends the second VXLAN packet to a second transmission device through a second VXLAN tunnel. This application facilitates more flexible packet transmission.

Abstract: This application provides a traffic forwarding method and a traffic forwarding apparatus.
