    Abstract: A turbomachine dual spool transmission system can include a transmission assembly configured to connect to a combination output of a dual spool differential at a transmission input to be driven by the combination output to turn a transmission output. The transmission assembly can be configured to provide a first output gear ratio in a first state and a second output gear ratio in a second state. The system can include the dual spool differential. The dual spool differential can include a gear assembly configured to combine a low pressure spool input and a high pressure spool input into a combination output to provide an output speed range smaller than a low pressure speed range alone.

    Abstract: A power extraction system is provided and includes a low-pressure spool of a gas turbine engine, the low-pressure spool being rotatable at an input rotational speed between a first minimum speed and a first maximum speed, downstream components rotatable at an output rotational speed between a second minimum speed and a second maximum speed and a transmission assembly by which rotations of the low-pressure spool at the input rotational speed are transmittable at the output rotational speed to the downstream components. The transmission assembly includes clutches and a controller configured to control openings and closings of the clutches according to an upshifting algorithm whereby a torque applied by the downstream components is used to reduce the output rotational speed to an output speed of a gear into which the transmission assembly is shifting.

    Abstract: A wet clutch assembly can include a clutch pack having a plurality of friction members attached to a first clutch housing and a plurality of separator members attached to a second clutch housing. The friction members and the separator members can be configured to be selectively contacted to each other to engage the first housing member to the second housing member. The clutch pack can be in fluid communication with a lubrication source such that a lubrication flow can flow to the friction members and the separator members to remove heat and/or debris therefrom.

    Abstract: A deaerator shaft may have a tubular intake segment that forms an intake end of the deaerator shaft, a tubular sleeve attachment segment that is adjacent to the intake segment, a tubular central segment that is adjacent to the sleeve attachment segment, the central segment having a third diameter that is greater than the second diameter, the central segment comprising a protruding ring that radially extends from the central segment and divides the central segment, the protruding ring having opposing flat surfaces, and a tubular discharge segment that forms a discharge end of the deaerator shaft. A gear may have a central ring positioned along an axis, opposing tabs that extend from a first axial side of the central ring, and a shouldered ring that extends from a second axial side of the central ring, the shouldered ring having a lip that extends radially inward toward the axis.
