摘要： A printer includes an ink jet head, a recovery unit, a moving unit, a conveying unit and a cover. The ink jet head performs printing on a printing medium and has an ink ejection port on an ejection port forming surface. The recovery unit is used for a recovery process for maintaining an ink ejection state of the ink jet head in a good condition. The recovery unit includes a cap for covering the ejection port forming surface, a wiping member for wiping the ejection port forming surface, and an absorbing member for receiving ink ejected from the ejection port of the ink jet head. The moving unit moves the recovery unit to a position where the recovery unit faces the ink jet head and to a position where the recovery unit does not face the ink jet head, the ejection forming surface of which is oriented toward the printing medium. The conveying unit conveys the printing medium to be printed by the ink jet head. The cover contains the ink jet head and the recovery unit. The cover is arranged to be opened so that a conveying path of the conveying unit appears and to be closed to cover the conveying path.

摘要： A printing apparatus is capable of freely selecting a plurality of sheet feeding units each having a different controlling method. It is discriminated as to which one among plural kinds of sheet feeding units is fitted, and printing and a motor for a sheet feeding-unit are controlled based on the result of the discrimination from an output from a sensor disposed on the sheet feeding unit. Especially, in the case that a roll shaped paper feeding unit is fitted, it is judged that a printing medium reaches the position where printing can be started when a TOF sensor detects black color, and in the case that a cut sheet feeding unit is fitted, it is judged that the recording medium reaches the position where printing can be started when the TOF sensor detects white color.

摘要： A copying apparatus comprises an original support unit for supporting original sheets, an original transport unit for feeding the originals one by one from the original support unit to an exposure unit, and, after the exposure, discharging the originals to the original support unit, a circulation detecting unit for detecting one circulation of the originals by the original transport unit, a counter for counting the number of originals transported by the original transport unit, a copying unit for effecting exposure in the exposure unit, and copying the image of the exposed original onto a sheet, and a storage unit provided with plural storage devices for storing sheets subjected to the copying by the copying unit. The copying apparatus further comprises a control unit adapted to cause the original transport means to effect an operation of a first circulation of the originals, to cause the counter to effect an operation of counting the number of the originals, to cause the copying unit to effect an operation of copying the originals, and to cause the storage unit to store the copied sheets in predetermined storage devices, then to cause the original transport unit to effect an operation of a second circulation of the originals, and to cause the copying unit to effect an operation of copying the originals, and also adapted to vary the assignment of the storage devices for storing the copied sheets according to the counting result by the counter.

摘要： A sheet sorting apparatus with a stapler includes a plurality of bin trays; bin tray shifting device for moving the plurality of the bin trays stepwisely substantially in the vertical direction to oppose the respective bin trays to a sheet inlet of the sorting apparatus, while expanding the clearances between the bin tray opposed to the sheet inlet and an upper adjacent bin tray and between the bin tray opposed to the sheet inlet and a lower adjacent bin tray to provide a larger clearance than the predetermined clearances; and stapler, disposed substantially on an extension of the inclined sheet receiving surface and having a stapling head movable to above the sheet receiving surface and an anvil movable to below the sheet receiving surface, for stapling the sheets interposed between the stapling head and the anvil, wherein the bin trays are so disposed that between those ends of adjacent ones of the bin trays which are closer to the sheet inlet are deviated when seen in a direction substantially perpendicular to the sheet receiving surface, and wherein the stapling head is moved using a space provided by the deviation, and wherein the expanded clearance is smaller than a height of the stapling head.
