    Abstract: A method for sidelink beam acquisition for device to device (D2D) communication includes calculating, by a base station, one or more first directions, where the one or more first directions are directions of a second electronic device located relative to a first electronic device; calculating, by the base station, one or more second directions, where the one or more second directions are directions of the first electronic device located relative to the second electronic device; transmitting, by the base station and to the first electronic device, the one or more first directions; and transmitting, by the base station and to the second electronic device, the one or more second directions.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and method for beam failure recovery between a UE and a base station operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. In an embodiment, the UE receives a frame from a base station for determining a radio link quality of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The UE determines whether the frame is received only during the DRX ON state of the DRX mode and that the radio link quality of the PDCCH is less than an acceptable quality threshold. In response, the UE transmits a recovery message to the base station indicating a change to a communication beam used to receive the frame.

    Abstract: A method performed by a base station for measuring a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) for non-codebook based uplink (UL) transmission. The method includes transmitting information relating to a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set for the non-codebook based UL transmission, information relating to a CSI-RS resource, a CSI-RS over the CSI-RS resource, and information relating to CSI-RS measurement restriction for measurement of the CSI-RS according to the CSI-RS measurement restriction. The measurement is for determining precoding information for the SRS resource set. The method includes receiving the SRS resource set, measuring the SRS resource set, and determining one or more SRS resources within the SRS resource set to be used for precoding the UL transmission. The method further includes transmitting a downlink control information (DCI) that indicates the SRS resources within the SRS resource set to be used for precoding the UL transmission, and receiving the UL transmission.
