An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving data using a multiple antenna scheme in a mobile communication system are provided. First and second code symbol sequences are generated by encoding a data symbol sequence for transmission in a predetermined encoding method. Transmission of the two code symbol sequences through the first and second transmit antennas is controlled such that if the data symbol sequence is initially transmitted, the first code symbol sequence is transmitted through the first transmit antenna and the second code symbol sequence is transmitted through the second transmit antenna and, if the data symbol sequence is retransmitted, the first code symbol sequence is transmitted through the second transmit antenna and the second code symbol sequence is transmitted through the first transmit antenna.

Disclosed is an apparatus and a method for transceiving high speed packet data, in which the high speed packet data are scrambled by using a scrambling code at a transmitter and the high speed packet data are de-scrambled by using a scrambling code at a receiver. When estimating a ratio of pilot power to traffic power, a problem caused by an unevenness of the power ratio is prevented. In addition, data is prevented from being transferred to an upper layer even if an HS-PDSCH is demodulated without UE data due to a detection error in an HS-SCCH during transmission of the HS-PDSCH.

A first transceiver transmits packet data and control information for enabling demodulation of the packet data to a second transceiver. The second transceiver receives the control information and the packet data, demodulates the packet data according to the control information, and transmits ACK/NACK information indicating whether there is an error in the packet data, and channel state information for the second transceiver, to the first transceiver. The second transceiver transmits channel state information to the first transceiver according to a predetermined channel state information transmission cycle, and transmits channel state information regardless of the channel state information transmission cycle upon receiving an on-demand channel quality indicator (ODC) from the first transceiver.

When transmitting new packet data, a Node B sets a New data Indicator (NI) to a specific bit value indicating an initial transmission for the packet data. Upon receipt of a retransmission request for the packet data, the Node B sets the NI as the inverse of a previous NI. If an redundancy version (RV) representing a constellation and a data type for packet data, is set to a specific value indicating an initial transmission, the Node B set the NI to the inverse of the specific bit value regardless of the previous NI. A User Equipment (UE) receives control information including the NI and the redundancy version (RV) and determines that the packet data is initial transmission data or retransmission data, according to the NI and the RV.

A method and system of retransmitting uplink packet data from a user equipment (UE) in a handover region to Node Bs. The UE transmits packet data to the Node Bs on an enhanced uplink dedicated transport channel (EUDCH). The Node Bs transmit to the UE first response fields indicating whether the Node Bs have received good packet data or bad packet data, and second response fields that the Node Bs received from an RNC indicating whether a radio network controller (RNC) has received good packet data or bad packet data. The UE then detects the first and second response fields and retransmits the uplink packet data according to the values of the response fields in the UE.

An apparatus and method for Transmission Time Interval (TTI) reconfiguration in a mobile communication system are provided. The apparatus includes an ACK/NACK determiner, an ACK/NACK controller, and a TTI controller. The ACK/NACK determiner determines if a response signal to be transmitted is ACKnowledgment (ACK) or Non ACKnowledgment (NACK) depending on an error or non-error of data received from a User Equipment (UE). The ACK/NACK controller counts the ACK and NACK determined in the ACK/NACK determiner. The TTI controller identifies if number of the latest ACKs counted in the ACK/NACK controller is continuously generated by preset number of times and, if it is continuously generated by the present number of times, reconfigures a new TTI.

Disclosed is a method for providing first and second interleaved bit streams to a modulator in order to transmit the first and second interleaved bit streams through at least two antennas in a mobile communication system. An encoder encodes a transmission data stream into a first bit stream with first priority and a second bit stream with second priority being lower than the first priority. An interleaver interleaves the first and second bit streams into the first and second interleaved bit streams. The modulator modulates the first and second interleaved bit streams. The method comprises distributing the first interleaved bit stream into first assignment bit streams for the respective antennas and the second interleaved bit stream into second assignment bit streams for the respective antennas according to power condition information of the respective antennas; and generating combination bit streams by combining the first assignment bit streams and the second assignment bit streams, distributed according to the respective antennas, and providing the generated combination bit streams to the modulator.
