Abstract:
A device for performing levelling and transit functions is disclosed herein having an elongated member with parallel spaced-apart top and bottom flat surfaces separated by a thickened web. The web includes several cutouts exposing bubble indicators arranged in a variety of orientations and includes a rotary module at one end movably mounting a laser beam generator. The module has a passageway conducting a laser beam to a selected one of several slots or passageways provided in the end of the member in response to manual rotation of the module by the user whereby the beam exits the device in a linear path. The web includes a housing adjacent to the module enclosing electrical circuits, battery power supply and button controls for operation of the laser. A pivoting panel is coextensive with the top flat surface in a stored position while pivotal to a position normal to the top flat surface when used as a corner square. A thumb adjustment screw protrudes from the web through a flat surface to angle the device if desired.
Abstract:
Axisymmetric birefringent materials are incorporated into a deep UV imaging system by exploiting axial symmetries. A polar orthogonal polarization pattern is relayed conjugate to a pupil of a telecentric imaging system to avoid birefringence of axisymmetric birefringent optics located in telecentric object or image space.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for remotely programming implantable medical devices. The apparatus includes a server adapted to receive and store at least one request to modify the behavior of an implantable medical device provided by a programmer adapted to allow a clinician to create the at least one request at a first selected time. The apparatus further includes a monitor adapted to receive the requests from the server and transmit the requests to the implantable medical device at a second selected time and a bi-directional communications system adapted to couple the server and the monitor.
Abstract:
A chassis assembly for containing a plurality of electronic units includes a cabinet including top, bottom, and opposite side walls, the front and rear of the cabinet being open. A pair of opposing vertical columns of spaced-apart stops projects from the interior surfaces of the side walls adjacent to the rear edges thereof, the corresponding stops in the pairs of columns being located opposite one another at the same elevation in said cabinet. The assembly also includes pairs of similar brackets each bracket pair adapted for securement to the opposite sides of an electronic unit to be contained in the chassis assembly. The brackets of each pair have rear ends shaped to interfit with corresponding stops in the columns of stops to set the elevation in the cabinet of the unit to which they are secured. The front ends of the brackets are releasably secured to the adjacent cabinet side walls so that said brackets are parallel to said top and bottom walls. A perforated closure member is releasably secured to the front of the cabinet to finish same and to provide a mounting surface for a logo.
Abstract:
A mounting system for a beverage container includes a cup holder having a pair of upright spaced-apart arms forming a yoke terminating in a first pivotal connection with opposite ends of a semi-circular retaining ring. The first pivot further includes connection with the opposite ends of a semi-circular arm having a midsection that includes a thrust bearing pivot attachable to a support hanger. The hangar has a shaped receptacle so as to provide releasable attachment with a pin on the semi-circular arm of the holder and cantilevers the holder outwardly from a supporting surface. The retaining ring is a “flip-over” loop which permits assembly of a container into the holder as well as easy removal therefrom. The first pivot connection includes a bearing pressed into the terminating ends of the yoke arms and is employed to movably mount a stud which includes a central portion for supporting the opposite ends of the retaining loop between the opposite ends of the semi-circular arm and the terminating ends of the yoke for the cup holder.
Abstract:
A fastener driving assembly or tool includes a metal handle having opposite ends with an elongated driver shaft projecting from one end and a swivel knob installed on the other end. An electrical insulator is installed between the handle and the driver shaft and an insulating filler secures the shaft, insulator and handle together. The handle includes a recess for storing a lever arm or breaking bar adapted to outwardly pivot with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle and driver shaft. A pivot rotatably connects one end of the lever arm with the handle.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for minimizing electromagnetic interference in a microcomputing system. The apparatus and method of the present invention are based on the fundamental aspect of providing an EMI shield specifically dimensioned to receive a microprocessor within the microcomputing system. The apparatus and method of the present invention are further based on the aspect of providing at least one ferrite bead along a power delivery path to attenuate any high-frequency leakage current from the microprocessor that results at the resonant frequencies of the EMI shield.
