摘要: An implantable shunt regulation device (1), with an electrically driven tube pinch valve (3) and means for electrically supplying, driving and wirelessly controlling the tube pinch valve (3), all components being arranged together in a single first closed housing (7) or separately in a first and second closed housing. The housing includes or forms a passage opening (71) for receiving a flexible shunt tube (102) or a body vessel. The tube pinch valve (3) is adjustable from outside the body (100) via a wireless connection. With the shunt regulation system (1) better adjustable and adaptable cardiac support systems (VAD) can, for example, be provided.

摘要: A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

摘要: Gastric resident electronics, devices, systems, and related methods are generally provided. Some embodiments comprise administering (e.g., orally) an (electronic) resident structure to a subject (e.g., a patient) such that the (electronic) resident structure is retained at a location internal to the subject for a particular amount of time (e.g., at least about 24 hours) before exiting said location internal to the subject. In some embodiments, the resident structure is a gastric resident electronic. That is to say, in some embodiments, the resident structure is configured for relatively long gastric residence and comprises an electronic component. In some embodiments, the structures and components described herein may comprise one or more components configured for the delivery of an active substance(s) (e.g., a pharmaceutical agent) to the subject. In some embodiments, the device has a modular design, combining an electronic component(s) with materials configured for controlled and/or tunable degradation/dissolution to determine the time at which (gastric) residence is lost and the device exits the location internal to the subject. For example, in some embodiments, the resident structure comprises an electronic component and one or more additional components associated with the electronic component such that the resident structure is configured to be retained at a location internal to a subject for greater than or equal to 24 hours.

摘要: A filtering device for removing particles from a fluid of a patient is provided. The filtering device being implantable in the patient's body and comprising a cassette comprising a revolving member, said revolving member having at least two segments each holding a respective filter. The device further comprises a tube forming a fluid passageway through one of the filters in said cassette, wherein the cassette is adapted to, upon revolution of the revolving cylinder, change the filter positioned in the fluid passageway from a first one of said filters to a second one of said filters, thereby allowing particles present on the first filter to be moved away from the fluid passageway, while at the same time changing the filter positioned in the fluid passageway.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed for treating arrhythmias using an implantable medical device. An implantable medical device that is adapted for implantation wholly within a heart chamber of the heart of a patient may include a reservoir containing one or more therapeutically useful doses of a drug for treating an arrhythmia. The implantable medical device may include processing circuitry configured to detect an occurrence of the arrhythmia in the heart of the patient. The implantable medical device may include a valve operable to be opened in response to detecting the occurrence of the arrhythmia in the heart of the patient to release a therapeutically useful dose of the drug into the heart of the patient to treat arrhythmia of the heart.

摘要: A controller for an implantable blood pump, having processing circuitry configured to control an operating speed of an impeller of the implantable blood pump. The processing circuitry being further configured to control activation and deactivation of a sleep mode. During the sleep mode the processing circuitry being configured to measure a level of suction by detecting suction during a predetermined time interval, recording the time at which suction occurred during the predetermined time interval, and generating a graph demonstrating the measured level of suction. The measured level of suction being a percentage of time the implantable blood pump experienced suction during the predetermined time interval. The processing circuitry being configured to reduce the operating speed of the impeller if the measured level of suction exceeds a predetermined threshold.

The medical device may include a housing configured to be implanted in a target site of a patient, a light emitter configured to emit a signal configured to cause a fluorescent marker to emit a fluoresced signal into the target site, and a light detector that may be configured to detect the fluoresced signal. The medical system may include processing circuitry configured to determine a characteristic of the fluorescent marker based on the emitted signal and the fluoresced signal. The characteristic of the fluorescent marker may be indicative of a presence of a compound in the patient, and the processing circuitry may be configured to track the presence of the compound of the patient based on the characteristic of the fluorescent marker.

摘要: An adaptive system for efficient and long-range wireless power delivery using magnetically coupled resonators responds to changes in a dynamic environment, and maintains high efficiency over a narrow or fixed frequency range. The system uses adaptive impedance matching to maintain high efficiency. The wireless power transfer system includes a drive inductor coupled to a high-Q transmitter coil, and a load inductor coupled to a high-Q receiver coil. The transmitter coil and receiver coil for a magnetically coupled resonator. A first matching network is (i) operably coupled to the drive inductor and configured to selectively adjust the impedance between the drive inductor and the transmitter coil, or (ii) is operably coupled to the load inductor and configured to selectively adjust the impedance between the load inductor and the receiver coil.

摘要: Apparatus and associated methods relate to diagnostic device and system including a proximal balloon disposed along a length of a catheter and a distal balloon disposed at a distal end of the catheter, with at least one camera disposed at the distal balloon and a pH sensor deployable via inflation of the proximal balloon and configured to engage a patient's esophagus wall to attach the pH sensor to the patient's esophagus wall. In an illustrative example, the pH sensor may be releasably retained to the catheter adjacent to the proximal balloon. The pH sensor may include a tissue engaging feature configured to engage a patient's esophagus wall to attach the pH sensor to the patient's esophagus wall. The diagnostic device may improve upon existing processes by providing a single device to perform a multi-purpose diagnostic procedure.
