    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes touch-sensor electrodes, an array substrate including pixel electrodes, gate lines, source lines, switching elements, a light-shielding layer, and a plurality of stripe-like common electrodes, a counter-substrate, and a liquid crystal layer, wherein the common electrodes included in the array substrate are used not only as electrodes for display, but also as touch-sensor electrodes and, in a touch operation, a touch drive signal is input to each drive unit electrode including a plurality of common electrodes, and the light-shielding layer is divided into parts each of which corresponds to the drive unit electrode, and is provided to extend across a region opposed to a region of the drive unit electrode.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device equipped with a touch detection function includes scanning lines, and series-connected unit register circuits, wherein a touch detection operation is performed in a scan stop period, each of the unit register circuits is composed of single-channel transistors, holds and outputs a scanning signal when a voltage leak of a held signal is equal to or lower than a predetermined value, a dummy unit register circuit is provided between a previous unit register circuit which drives a last scanning line before start of the scan stop period and a subsequent unit register circuit which drives a first scanning line after end of the scan stop period, and the dummy unit register circuit continues outputting the scanning signal to the subsequent unit register circuit during the scan stop period.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a first Pixel is connected to a first source line via a first switch included in a first Pixel and the second Pixel is connected to a second source line via a second switch included in the second Pixel. The first Pixel has a first memory, and the second Pixel has a second memory. A first potential line supplies data 1 and a second potential line supplies data 0. The first and second Pixels can store data 1 or 0, when a gate signal is applied to a gate line and the first and second switches are turned on. In this case, in order to store the same data (1 or 0) in the first and second memories, the first and second source lines should be applied different revel signals each other.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display pixel allocated at a matrix state in a display area, an image-reading device which detects strength of capacitive coupling by a dielectric material coming close to or making contact with the display area, and a control portion which controls each transistor of the image-reading device. The image-reading device includes a detection electrode which forms capacitance between the detection electrode and the dielectric material, a pre-charge gate line, a coupling pulse line, a readout gate line, a pre-charge line and a readout line. These lines supply a signal which drives the image-reading device. The image-reading device further includes a pre-charge transistor, an amplification transistor, a readout transistor, a compensation transistor, and a power-source switching transistor.
