Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a pair of substrates including a display area in which pixels are arranged, pixel electrodes and memories provided in the pixels, signal lines supplied with digital signals, switching elements connecting the memories and the signal lines, scanning lines supplied with scanning signals, a first driver unit, and a second driver unit. The first driver unit is provided in a peripheral area around the display area, and supplies the digital signal to the signal line. The second driver unit is provided in the peripheral area, and supplies the scanning signal to the scanning line. In the display device, at least a part of the first driver unit is provided between the display area and the second driver unit.

Abstract: To provide a display device capable of performing image processing. Each pixel is provided with a memory circuit in which desired correction data is retained. The correction data is generated by calculation in an external device and written to each pixel. The correction data is added to image data by capacitive coupling and supplied to a display element. Thus, the display element can display a corrected image. Through the correction, image upconversion can be performed, or image quality decreased because of variations in pixel transistor characteristics can be corrected.

Abstract: A liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator comprising an array of light-modulating pixels and a controller are disclosed. Each light-modulating pixel of the array comprises liquid crystal and is associated with a respective flip-flop. The controller receives a hologram of an image comprising a plurality of hologram pixels. Each hologram pixel comprises a respective n-bit hologram pixel value. The controller drives each light-modulating pixel in accordance with a respective hologram pixel value of the hologram. There is a one-to-n pixel correlation between the hologram and the light-modulating pixels. The flip-flops of each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels are connected in series to form a shift register. During operation of the shift register, the n-bit hologram pixel value associated with each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels is provided to each light-modulating pixel one bit at a time over the course of at least n clock cycles.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention relates to a common semiconductor apparatus for driving two different circuits. The semiconductor apparatus is capable of switching a plurality of signal potentials and sequentially outputting the plurality of signal potentials to the outside. The semiconductor apparatus can make one of two different circuits arranged in a matrix operate in all the rows and can make the other circuit operate in all the rows or only in a specific row. The display device includes: a display panel including pixels connected to data lines and scan lines; a scan driver for supplying scan signals to the pixels through the scan lines; a data driver for receiving digital image data, converting the digital image data into an analog data signal, and supplying the analog data signal to the pixels through the data lines; a data variance calculator for calculating a variance in image data for each data channel by using the digital image data, and summing the variance in image data for each data channel to calculate an integrated data variance value; and a plurality of correction value calculators for calculating a touch correction value for each sensing channel by using the integrated data variance value.
