    摘要: In a method for providing Location Based Services (LBS) in a mobile communication system, upon receipt of a location trigger at an LS for requesting location information of an MS from a location client, the LS transmits an authentication request message for requesting an ID of an Anchor Authenticator (AA) for the MS to an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting server (AAA), which transmits an authentication response message to the LS. The LS transmits an LCID request message for requesting an LCID of an LC for the MS to the AA, which AA transmits an initiate MS paging request message to an APC. The APC detects a serving LC of the MS and transmits an LCID to the AA, which transmits an LCID response message to the LS, which transmits an MS location report request message to the serving LC. The LC transmits an MS location report response message to the LS.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for delivering buffer status information to a target base station, to which a mobile station has decided to hand over, by a serving base station in a communication system. The method includes the steps of constructing buffer status information containing a first parameter indicating the number of a smallest packet among packets within a predetermined section stored in a buffer, a second parameter indicating the number of a packet to be transmitted at a next point of time, a third parameter indicating the number of a first packet, the lifetime of which has not yet expired, and a fourth parameter indicating whether or not an instruction to initialize the buffer status information has been transmitted to the mobile station; and transmitting a message containing the constructed buffer status information to the target base station.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus reduce overhead for data integrity checks in a wireless communication system. When receiving a message, a first Integrity Check Value (ICV) is compared with a second ICV to detect an integrity error in the message. When the integrity error exists in the message, a frequency of the integrity error is counted. When the frequency of the integrity error is more than a threshold, a key update procedure is performed. Therefore, the overhead of the information for integrity check may be reduced in the wireless communication system.

    摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for changing network interfaces in a multiaccess mobile terminal in a wireless communication system including a server for providing high-capacity data transmission service to a mobile terminal, and the terminal for receiving data from the server and supporting various network interfaces. Upon detecting handoff based on current air information received, an interface module reports a change in interface to a new air interface to an upper layer, and manages the mobile terminal such that traffic is transmitted to the new air interface. Upon receiving information on the new air interface from the interface module, a service module determines a bandwidth of the new air interface, generates a message based on the determined bandwidth, and transmits the generated message.

    摘要: When a terminal moves from a WLAN network to a cellular network after being allocated an IP address from a PDSN of the cellular network, a tightly coupled interworking method and apparatus between the cellular network and the WLAN network set up a temporary tunnel between the PDSN and an AGW of the WLAN network, and after completion of the handoff from the WLAN network to the cellular network, inform the PDSN of the handoff completion from the terminal, thereby enabling fast seamless handoff without data loss. Compared with the conventional tightly coupled scheme, the proposed tightly coupled scheme can prevent the need for processing cellular signals in the WLAN network because there is no need to transmit cellular signals in a WLAN interval, especially between the terminal and the AGW.
