摘要： There are provided a method for managing neighbor Base Station (BS) information in a mobile communication system, and a system thereof. A femto Access Service Network-Gateway (ASN-GW) controls at least one femto BS, manages scan information that an MS served by a macro BS requires in measuring at least one signal strength by scanning the at least one femto BS, creates the scan information in a format of Downlink Channel Descriptor (DCD) and Uplink Channel Descriptor (UCD) information, and transmits the scan information to the macro BS. The macro BS periodically broadcasts neighbor BS information of the femto BS, which includes the scan information, to MSs in its coverage using a Neighbor Advertisement (NBR-ADV) message.

摘要： Disclosed is a method for delivering buffer status information to a target base station, to which a mobile station has decided to hand over, by a serving base station in a communication system. The method includes the steps of constructing buffer status information containing a first parameter indicating the number of a smallest packet among packets within a predetermined section stored in a buffer, a second parameter indicating the number of a packet to be transmitted at a next point of time, a third parameter indicating the number of a first packet, the lifetime of which has not yet expired, and a fourth parameter indicating whether or not an instruction to initialize the buffer status information has been transmitted to the mobile station; and transmitting a message containing the constructed buffer status information to the target base station.

摘要： Provided is an apparatus and method for performing a handover in a broadband wireless communication system. In a method for a handover operation of a mobile station in a broadband wireless communication system, the mobile station determines a value of a forced switching timer in consideration of the time to receive a fast ranging information message. The mobile station generates a handover request message containing the forced switching timer value, and transmits the handover request message to a serving base station, and drives the forced switching timer. The mobile station receives a fast ranging information message from a target base station by switching to the target base station upon termination of the forced switching timer.
