Abstract:
In accordance with one aspect of the present exemplary embodiment, a multifunction communication system comprises a scanner and a multifunction device that processes data received from the scanner. The multifunction device comprises a user interface that allows a user to enter commands to configure at least one functional aspect of the multifunction device, wherein the user is presented with a logical progression of steps that inquire of the user information that is needed to complete an email function. An authentication component communicates with the user interface that requires a user to enter a valid username and password via the user interface to access specific functionality of the multifunction device. An email component facilitates sending one or more email messages that contain data received from the scanner. A receiving component that receives at least one email message from the multifunction device.
Abstract:
By substituting a ring optical parametric oscillator for the linear cavity, one eliminates the effects of feedback solved in the prior art by the use of isolators and by the purposeful off-axis alignment of the pump laser beam. The result is an exceedingly robust system with state-of-the-art efficiency for maximizing output power while preserving beam quality.
Abstract:
A tool for forming flares in, for example, corrugated elliptical tubing. The tool may have a retaining portion having a longitudinal axis located between an impact surface and a die head. The die head is coupled to the retaining portion on a first side, and on a second side the die head has a guide plug extending from an inner area of a flare surface normal to the longitudinal axis; and a bottoming surface extending from a periphery of the flare surface. The bottoming surface is oriented at an angle to the flare surface. A saw guide may be used to obtain an appropriate extension of the tube from a stop which the flare is formed against.
Abstract:
A connector device for interconnecting an antenna with a novelty toy or display item, the connector device having a disk-shaped base with a radial slot that extends from an outer base portion edge to the approximate center of the base portion, and two or more spaced-apart prongs extending upwardly from the base portion. The slot is wide enough to accept the vehicle antenna, thus allowing the antenna to be slidingly engaged within the base portion. The prongs have an inwardly angled upper portion which terminates with a sharp tip so as to easily insert the prongs into the material of the novelty at the bottom of a hole therein. The upper portion also provides a horizontal downfacing lip that prevents the novelty from being easily removed from the device and a horizontal upfacing lip that prevents the prongs from being inserted too far into the novelty. A crushable material plug is used to assure a tight fit between the antenna and the novelty.
Abstract:
A method for detecting an input command including configuring a sensor to determine whether a user is within a proximity of a computing machine, configuring an input device to detect an input command entered by the user when the user is within the proximity of the computing machine, and transmitting the input command for the computing machine to process.
Abstract:
An administration system for use within a server system is provided. The server system having a server that provides host management functions and the server system being able to accept computer cards inserted therein. The administration system comprises a computing system that is inserted in the server system, the computing system having a controller that assumes control over the communications bus.
Abstract:
A method for imaging a region of interest (ROI) within a body. The method includes applying ultrasound energy to the ROI, receiving ultrasound data for the ROI in response to the applied ultrasound energy, executing a moving window analysis on the received ultrasound data to generate a plurality of windows of information, applying a Renyi entropy signal receiver to each of the generated windows to generate Renyi entropy data, and presenting an image of the ROI based on the Renyi entropy data.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a system and method for reporting data in a computer vision system. According to one embodiment, the presence of an object is detected within a display area of a display panel via at least one three-dimensional optical sensor. Measurement data associated with the object is received, and processor extracts at least one set of at least seven three-dimensional target coordinates from the measurement data. Furthermore, a control operation for the computer vision system is determined based on the at least one set of target coordinates.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a multi-camera system for a display system. According to one embodiment, the display system includes a display panel configured to display images on a front side, and at least three three-dimensional optical sensors arranged around the perimeter of the display panel. Furthermore, each three-dimensional optical sensor is configured to capture measurement data of an object from a perspective different than the perspective of the other optical sensors.
