Abstract:
Exercise machines having at least one user support and at least one user engagement actuator wherein motion of the at least one user engagement actuator is resisted in both the push and pull directions by a rotational one directional flywheel and braking mechanism. The resistance of the push direction can be less, greater, or equal to the resistance of the pull direction. Resistance to the motion of the at least one user engagement actuator can be adjusted prior to or during operation of the machine. Each machine can have one or two user supports with each user support comprising a user engagement actuator and each machine having a single common one directional flywheel and braking mechanism.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A weight training machine for allowing at least two of a user's muscle groups to push or pull simultaneously in a synchronized and unified fashion, having at least one common counter or weight resistance mechanism; a first actuating means operatively connected to the at least one common counter or weight resistance mechanism for allowing actuation of the at least one common counter or weight resistance mechanism by a first of the user's muscle groups, and a second actuating means operatively connected to the at least one common counter or weight resistance mechanism for allowing actuation of the at least one common counter or weight resistance mechanism by a second of the user's muscle groups, wherein actuation of both the first actuating means and the second actuation means simultaneously acts upon and or resists against the at least one common counter or weight resistance mechanism. One embodiment is an exercise machine and a drive or actuating mechanism with a lever and fulcrum configuration. The fulcrum has an attached handle, arm, lever or platform means, bearings for operatively cooperating with an axle and/or the lever, and attachment means for additional actuating member or members being operatively connected to the axle. The lever has a means for contact with the user and a weight means for providing a counterweight to the weight of the user, as well as attachment means for operatively connecting with the fulcrum and/or axle. The actuating member or members are attached to the fulcrum, preferably pivotally, and comprise linkages to the axle and/or lever so as to be able to transfer force from the user to the lever. Other embodiments include weight training machines having a moment arm weight, weight stack, or weight plate weight resistance mechanism for creating a weight resistance or weight load.
Abstract:
A machine for concurrently exercising one or more of a user's muscle groups, the machine having a base having front and back ends, one or more linear slide rails, a user support and an engagement member for the user's hands or feet. The user support slides while pivoting during the exercise motion such that the location and angle of the user support is dictated by the linkage mechanism that positions and connects the user support relative to the other parts of the machine. The user support can be caused to move by the engagement member being acted upon by the user's feet only, by the user's hands only or a combination of the user's feet and hands concurrently during the exercise.
Abstract:
A machine for concurrently or independently performing pressing motions with the hands and feet, the machine having a base having front and back ends, two or more linear slide rails, a lower body user support with an engagement means for the user's feet and an upper body user support with an engagement means for the user's hands. The upper body user support and lower body user support slide on the linear rails that are located proximally on opposing ends of the base frame and the upper body user supports and the lower body user supports cooperate with one another to move in opposing converging and diverging sloping linear movement patterns during operation of the machine.
Abstract:
An exercise treadmill having an endless exercise surface for walking or running while exercising, a resistance mechanism for providing a resistance for simulating the pushing or pulling of a load, wherein the resistance can be adjusted and set to a specific resistance setting. A movable pushing and pulling means is or are operatively attached to the resistance mechanism to transfer the load to the user. The resistance mechanism applies a constant and static force to the pushing and pulling means only in the same direction the endless movable surface moves and opposite a pushing or pulling direction such that operating the treadmill simulates the pushing or pulling of a load by a combination of gripping and pushing or pulling the pushing and pulling means forward or backwards while walking or running forward or backwards.

Abstract:
An exercise treadmill for simulating a dragging or pulling action, having an endless moveable surface looped around rollers or pulleys to form an upper run and a lower run, with an exercise surface for walking or running on while operating the treadmill; and a moment arm weight resistance means for simulating the dragging or pulling of a load.
Abstract:
An exercise treadmill of the type having an endless moveable surface looped around rollers or pulleys to form an upper run and a lower run, the movable surface being rotated when one of the rollers or pulleys is rotated, an exercise surface on for walking or running while exercising, and a weight resistance means for simulating the dragging or pulling of a load, wherein the endless movable surface moves in a direction simulating walking or running backwards.
Abstract:
A leg press exercise apparatus with composite motion movement combining a moving actuating member and a moving user support, the leg press having a support member, a frame on which the user support is located, the frame being pivotally connected to the support member, a truck in slidable engagement with the support member and the frame, an actuating member on which a push plate is located, the actuating member being pivotally connected to the support member and operatively connected to the truck, the actuating member being adapted to move between a first position and a second position, and a linking mechanism operatively connecting the actuating member the truck, wherein, when the user pushes the actuating member between the first position and the second position, the truck moves along rails on the support member, forcing the frame to pivot relative to the support member and causing the user to actuate a resistance weight, thus exercising certain of the user's muscles.
