    摘要: A self-contained, light-weight, programmable data-acquisition system is constructed largely from readily available personal computer (PC) subassemblies. It operates as a paperless recorder and event recorder, storing data from a plurality of analog inputs to a fixed disk for later retrieval by a PC. It also operates as a PC peripheral device permitting real-time viewing and analysis, as well as recording, of a plurality of analog inputs. As an event recorder it can store a fixed amount of data preceding the triggering event, which can be in the form of either a contact closure or the value of an analog input exceeding a preset minimum or maximum value. Configuration is performed at the PC and subsequently downloaded to the recorder where it is stored in non-volatile memory. Converted and recorded data display at the host PC is both graphical and numerical form. Channel data displayed at the host PC is uniquely identified in that each channel's data is uniquely colored.

The extension portion may be assembled in situ to a spinal rod that has been previously secured to vertebral bodies in a patient.

    摘要: The present invention provides a system and method for automatically adjusting a continuously variable transmission (CVT) in a motorized vehicle. A microprocessor processor in the vehicle receives data about the operating status of the vehicle from a plurality. Examples of vehicle data include vehicle speed, motor speed, throttle position, current draw from a battery, and battery level. A servo motor is in mechanical communication with the CVT and provides an axial force to adjust the CVT. The microprocessor uses lookup tables of optimal set points for vehicle data to instruct the servo motor to adjust the transmission ratio of the CVT according to the vehicle data provided by the sensors.

The connector may include a first coupling element composed of a material with a similar galvanic potential to one of the surgical members, and a second coupling element composed of a material with a similar galvanic potential to the second surgical member. Each of the first and second coupling elements may be configured to connect to the respective surgical member. The connector may also include a coupling medium disposed between the first and second coupling elements. The coupling medium may function to connect together the two coupling elements, and isolate the coupling elements to inhibit galvanic corrosion.

Digitized data is provided to a formatter, and the formatter forms the data packet to include header fields identifying parts of the payload portion of the data packet that are checksum-protected with different checksums. Additional indicia is contained in the header part of the data packet to identify the checksum-type and the checksum-values associated with the separate parts of the data packet. Multiple, contiguous parts of the data packet are checksum-protected with selectable checksum-types, selected by a selector that operates to control operation of the formatter.
