摘要： A vehicle occupant restraint system comprises an airbag module (16) disposed in an instrument panel (14) the airbag (18) of which extends when inflated from a receipt in the instrument panel (14) into the interior of the vehicle (10). A supporting structure (20) for the airbag (18) on a side of the airbag (18) facing a windscreen (12) is configured so that it supports the airbag (18) against the forces occurring when a vehicle occupant immerses in the airbag (18).

摘要： A gas bag (10) for a vehicle occupant restraint system includes a limiting strap (12) which is guided along a wall (14) of the gas bag (10), the limiting strap (12) being shortened in an initial state by at least one gathered section such that the gas bag (10) is constricted and is not able to deploy freely, the at least one gathered section being extendable after a predetermined limiting strap tensile force is exceeded, so that the gas bag (10) may be deployed completely.

摘要： A gas bag for a vehicle occupant restraint arrangement includes an inner fabric layer (16), a middle fabric layer (20) and an outer fabric layer (18) lying one over another. Each fabric layer (16, 20, 18) has a section in which at least one opening (10, 14, 12) is formed. The overlapping of the sections with the openings (10, 14, 12) form a discharge opening of the gas bag. The section of the middle fabric layer (20) is movable relative to the sections of the inner and outer fabric layers (16, 18) depending on the internal pressure of the gas bag and thereby altering the cross section of the discharge opening.
