Abstract:
This invention relates to a frame for the transport and storage of pipes consisting of profile frame parts, of which the upper and lower profile frame parts are connectable with one another by bolting rod means. Recesses are provided on both ends of the profile frame parts for receiving the bolting rod means. The bolting rod is rotatably arranged with an end having a transverse crosspiece that is detachably positioned into lateral transverse bores of the lower profile frame part. The crosspiece has at least one bevel end for facilitating insertion of the crosspiece into the transverse bores of the lower profile frame parts.
Abstract:
System for protecting machine parts, such as threads, from physical and chemical damage. The parts to be protected are cleaned, coated with a separating agent, and a mold is placed around them. A protective material is inserted in the interspace between the mold and pipe end. The protective material forms a tough, protective jacket. If desired, the jacket can later be removed by means of a tear-open element or integrated weak spots. For the protection of pipe interiors, plastic material can be pressed into the end of the pipe such that it seals against the inside lining of the pipe.

Abstract:
A device that protects the inner surface of pipes from rust is disclosed. This device is especially useful for pipes provided with threading and a thread guard at their threaded ends to form an airtight seal. The device comprises a holder that can be inserted in the pipes on which a number of receptacles are attached at intervals. The receptacles are filled with a drying agent or dessicant and are made of a moisture permeable material. A moisture indicator may be placed in the base of the thread guard.
Abstract:
A corrugation head includes a holder for a two segment, helical corrugating edge with adjustable pitch of the helix as well as of working spiral. The edge extends from two annular segments which have grooves and are held for bending. One of the segments can be pivoted inwardly for adjusting the depth of the corrugation to be made.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to an arrangement for detecting deficient operational capability in a vacuum switching vessel. The arrangement can provide a signal if a fault occurs which affects the operability of the switching vessel. Instead of a signal, a protective device alone or together with the signal can also be caused to respond. The arrangement includes a body of a material which changes its physical characteristics substantially in a limited temperature interval and is attached in heat-conducting contact with a part of the vacuum switching vessel which has a temperature time constant as small as possible. This change of the characteristics of the body acts to initiate the above-mentioned signal or action of the protective device. The invention is suited particularly for application in switchgear with vacuum switching vessels.
Abstract:
The cover is intended for a container with an angled rim and has a sealing mechanism acting peripherally on the edge of the container. There is, around the edge of the cover, an open elastic metal sealing ring exerting a spring force which increases with the diameter of the sealing ring. In its position of rest the sealing ring is clamped between the end region of a part of the rim of the container and the end region of an annular angled section on the edge of the cover. The sealing mechanism comprises means for expanding the diameter of the sealing ring against said spring force.
Abstract:
An infrared intrusion detector uses infrared-sensitive sensors with pyroelectric sensor elements for detecting infrared radiation from a spatial region to be monitored. Infrared radiation passes through an entrance window and reaches the sensor elements via focusing mirrors. Extraneous radiation, outside the useful radiation band, is eliminated by filtering at the entrance window and by an optical transmission filter, and by scattering at suitable rough surfaces of the focusing mirrors. As a result, the infrared intrusion detector is less sensitive to extraneous radiation and less likely to produce false alarms.
Abstract:
A protector for the threads of a pipe-end, comprises a tubular member including a longitudinal portion and a curved end portion bent substantially 270.degree., the curved end portion including an edge disposed a distance away from the longitudinal portion; and an elastomeric sleeve disposed co-axially and substantially co-extensively relative to the tubular member. The sleeve is adapted to engage the threads of the pipe-end. The sleeve includes an end portion disposed between the edge and the longitudinal portion, the edge clamping the sleeve end portion against the longitudinal portion, thereby securing the sleeve to the tubular member. The sleeve includes a radially extending annular flange disposed outside the curved end portion for engaging an end portion of the pipe-end.
Abstract:
When using a multi-barrel firing weapon, such as a Gatling-type gun or canon, it is desired during a firing burst, to first fire the initial or lead cartridge or ammunition round when the rotating array of weapon barrels, during running up to speed, has attained its full rotational speed, that is, when the firing weapon is capable of firing at the full or maximum firing rate. In this way there is realized the desired high precision and low round scattering of the weapon system. The cartridge infeed apparatus requires a certain amount of time until it has reached its full cartridge infeed velocity. The initial or lead cartridge therefore should only then be delivered to the multi-barrel firing weapon after completion of the running up to speed of the array of weapon barrels and after the cartridge infeed apparatus has reached its full or maximum cartridge infeed velocity. To that end, there are provided two cartridge transfer wheels which are interconnected by a clutch, these cartridge transfer wheels being arranged between two endless chains. There are also provided a separate cartridge return channel and a sensor for determining the starting position of the initial or lead cartridge.
