    摘要: There are provided a ceramic heater in which a defect, such as generation of a gap at the interface between an insulating substrate and a heat-generating resistor, is unlikely to occur in the course of manufacture or use, and a glow plug using the ceramic heater. A ceramic heater 110 includes an insulating substrate 111 extending in the direction of an axis AX and a heat-generating resistor 115, which has a heat-generating portion 116, two lead portions 117, 117 and two lead lead-out portions 118a and 118b. The ceramic heater 110 satisfies an expression S1≦0.34 Sa, where Sa is the area of a cross section of the ceramic heater 110 taken perpendicular to the direction of the axis AX, and S1 is the total cross-sectional area of the two lead portions 117, 117 as measured in the cross section.

Both lead parts are made of the same material as both electrode parts. An axial cross-sectional area of the electrode part is equal to or larger than a cross-sectional area of the lead part in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the ceramic heater.

    摘要: A green ceramic heater including a green heating resistor formed of an electrically conductive ceramic (e.g., silicide or carbide of a metal element such as W, Ta, or Nb) and an insulative ceramic (e.g., silicon nitride) and power supply leads (e.g., made of W), a first end of each power supply lead being connected to a corresponding end of the green heating resistor, the green heating resistor and the power supply leads buried in a green substrate formed of a material (e.g., silicon nitride) is fired, and subsequently, the resultant ceramic heater is heat-treated at 900 to 1,600° C., to thereby enhance flexural strength of the ceramic heater. The heat treatment is preferably carried out prior to forming a glass layer on an outer circumferential surface of the ceramic heater. When the heat treatment is performed after the fired ceramic heater has been polished so as to expose a second end of each power supply lead from a surface of the substrate, the heat treatment is preferably carried out in an inert atmosphere.

    摘要: A CAM (content addressable memory) device capable of flexibly coping with a wide range of user requirements with respect to operation speed and/or power consumption has operation mode setting means, generates a higher or lower internal voltage than an external power-supply voltage depending on the setting, and at least part of the internal circuit is operated by the internal voltage. In particular, the high level of the search-bit line and/or the high level of the match line are preferably set to the internal voltage. Also, the CAM device has bit line amplitude adjusting means for adjusting the amplitude of the bit line depending on the setting of the operation mode setting means and/or match line amplitude adjusting means for adjusting the amplitude of match line on which a search result is output, and thus is capable of appropriately changing the operation speed and power consumption depending on the setting.
