Abstract: Techniques are provided for facilitating channel estimation to mitigate cross-link interference between a base station in a first cell and at least one neighbor base station. In the context of a method performed by the base station, an indication for assistance information to support channel estimation is provided from the base station to at least one neighbor base station. The method also includes receiving assistance information from at least one neighbor base station. The method further includes causing a time-frequency muting pattern to be signaled to at least one user equipment in a first cell. The method also includes estimating an interference covariance matrix from an interfering link of the at least one neighbor base station based at least in part on the assistance information and estimating the desired signal based on the interference covariance matrix. Corresponding method, apparatus and computer-readable storage mediums are also provided for a base station.
